@HotAisle naw, I don't think it has to be that way. I've seen complete systems rebuilt multiple times from the ground up after iterations of learning and trial, you can't possibly know how all the structural pieces should be built up front, you have to figure it out and iterate.
I think what people don't get is that now with the funding, and with the take off, a bunch of the subsystems within Omarchy will be rewritten and aggressively iterated on to protect against things like this (hopefully not still in raw shell, but maybe they have some ideas on that...). The current version is just iterations on the prototype imo, now that they've got PMF, it's go time.
Spend whole saturday to exploit this. God I love the way Linux teaches something every time I try to use it ๐

Installed Omarchy on an old M2 Macbook Air, and man, I do love how smooth and fast everything is but this is kind of a deal breaker (from the Grok agent):
"This install cannot drive the Studio Display until Asahi lands DP-alt/Thunderbolt in the stable kernel. The laptop screen is the only output Hyprland can use right now."
Welp, might need to buy that XPS 14...
Hot take: most software is slop, always has been, always will be. The amount of non-slop software is probably like 1% and I predict that will persist into the singularity.
@dhh I just installed installed this fork on a 2022 M2 with 8GB ram, so far it's working great! This is so cool man, best GUI distro I've ever played with. Looking forward to it replacing my macbook as my main driver.

people we're saying that SpaceX was the rug-pull IPO, but it's actually this one. Anthropic doesn't build anything real, their entire business is ephemeral (token generation will trend towards 0 margin)... but SpaceX has real, valuable, physical hardware.
you need to read the code early in the project so you can guide the style and the design. as you build it up properly, the agents will adapt as the project gets more complex. good foundations build good software, AI doesn't change that at all, just makes it faster to iterate.
@DanielW_Kiwi this is so true. I'm on my 3rd iteration of my project, rebuilding it from scratch to put the right pieces in place as I learn what the agents need to stay on track...
