You know how we all bitch about Hollywood's lack of originality? Turns out, there's 2 really original films debuting this weekend: THE NORTHMAN & THE UNBEARABLE WEIGHT OF MASSIVE TALENT. Wouldn't it be fun to go see them in a theater? If they do well maybe we'd get more of them!
Cinema’s alive cause someone decided to give Robert Eggers $100 million to make #TheNorthman
This film is brutal & beautiful! My favorite film from Eggers to date. The cast from the leads to supporting actors are all phenomenal. I’ll be shocked if this isn’t my #1 film of 2022
@seangarrette It’s not suffering bro. I got alopecia and lost all my hair. She doesn’t even have alopecia totalis. I had it since 3rd grade but she’s acting like it a huge deal. Comedians should be allowed to make JOKES. Especially about multi millionaires.
@Boythatneverwaz@ilariafanmj@CultureCrave It’s an auto immune disorder than effects males and females. Different from male pattern baldness. Also it’s different cause there are treatments that could make the hair grow back. It doesn’t just effect the scalp it effects all hair on your body.
@mimigobrazi @JulieTyrrell3 @mauli_adam @futch_regina Fair. But I can have an opinion and my opinion was she is a multi million dollar celebrity who has a non fatal disease and she was being overly sensitive.
@katestmomever@NAAF_org@alopecia_s@comingup_rosies I was diagnosed with alopecia areta in 3rd grade. Lost all my hair right out of high school. Been dealing with it my whole life. The outrage is ridiculous. Chris rock is a comedian. It was a joke. Quit the outrage.
@ilariafanmj@CultureCrave I have the SAME auto immune disorder. Alopecia. Lost all my hair. It was hilarious. It’s not a life threatening disease it just sucks to deal with. Comedians should be allowed to make jokes about anything and this was nothing.
@PiyushT83117124@AshishSinghLIVE@umashankarsingh I have it too. Since 3rd grade. Im 21 now. Lost all my hair right out of high school and I now have fake eyebrows. It was HILARIOUS. Comedians should be allowed to make JOKES about anything. Including this.
@AndM__@BREVRN@coopercooperco I have the same condition as her. Alopecia. Lost ALL my hair like her. It’s not trauma. It sucks but Chris rock making a joke about it was completely fine. He’s a comedian.
@Rocio2026 @WalkerHoang @Variety I have that auto immune disorder as well. Alopecia Areta. Got diagnosed in the 3rd grade. Had bald spots in high school and lost all of my hair right out of high school. I have fake eyebrows now. Im trying to grow it back everyday. That joke was hilarious. Will smith over reacted
@fwong@CraftTanner In an empty theater. By far! I don’t believe what people have at home will ever match the theatrical experience. It’s not only about the crowds. It’s being in a dark room with a larger screen than you can get at home experiencing a story. That’s always the best way.
@LB3PTMAN @mtepatti15 @Random29480998 @DiscussingFilm She wasn't insulting the movies themselves, she was critiquing the distribution model. "It’s not working as a model for establishing legendary greatness." Great movies are being ignored or forgotten based off SOME of the way streaming services market them.
@LB3PTMAN @mtepatti15 @Random29480998 @DiscussingFilm What did she say that was shitty. She critiquing the model of streaming services and how they distribute movies. As a working filmmaker who has dealt with these studios first hand, she has a point.
@LB3PTMAN @mtepatti15 @Random29480998 @DiscussingFilm Irishman is a great movie. It should have been in wide release for 45 days so everyone who wanted to see it on the big screen can. Those who don't care can wait for streaming, after its theatrical run. That's her point I believe.
@TheHunterBishop@DiscussingFilm She's not saying the films themselves aren't great. They are. Devil All the Time, Irishman, Marriage Story, etc. The basis of her argument is they should have played in theaters instead of going directly to streaming.
