JUST IN: Dennis Hastert, the nation’s longest-serving Republican House speaker, who helped turn much of President George W. Bush’s agenda into law before his own political legacy was forever fouled by allegations that he molested high school athletes when he was a wrestling coach, died over the weekend, a coroner said Monday. He was 84. https://t.co/6xM2ZYCiq5
@Liz_Cheney Bullies never stop. America was a big isolationist prior to WWII, until Japan decided to take us out on Dec 7, 1941. By then, fascists had killed millions and had now set their sights on the US. If we isolate ourselves, we're just giving the bad guys more time to destroy us.
@Davide8Arvedi@RpsAgainstTrump First, cause chaos. Never be direct or speak the truth. Confuse every issue. DJT is good at that. Then isolate your victims from their allies--their friends, family, neighbors, NATO. Then you bully & intimidate the suckers until they're too scared to push back. Finito.
@LovesWaterViews@StephenKing Hi, Ellen. Love the sentiment. Still love your Snoopy & Peanuts logos. Did I ever tell you I found some Snoopy note cards I bought in the '60's?
The Closing Ceremony: pretentious & boring. I fell asleep. Olympic rings symbolism is overwrought, the bands are lame, but the most laughable is the Voyager--a big gold bug with shoulder fringe & 2 long antennae sticking up from his ugly-ass nose braid.
Just a comment about my previous comment: I very much appreciate the work this person has put into helping me with my loan...but, I get TONS of these l'il e-epistles, & they always kind of beg the question--whaaat?!?
I get it! Homes--home loans. Very good. Clever. But then, why all the posh living spaces stuff? So, I'll spend more than I can afford? And then the capper: "Today, we watch a shared sky of fireworks." Where? I can't even SEE the sky!
The heart of our great nation lies in the homes of its people.
Hi, We hope you enjoy a Happy Independence Day, from the balconies of urban lofts, the patios of tight-knit neighborhoods, and the meadows of country houses. Today, we watch a shared sky of fireworks.
Happy 4th, everyone! I can hear you celebrating, but I see not one of you--nary a one. No matter. I feel optimistic about the afternoon. But after 50+ years, I am forced to apply for a loan & rehouse my needy partner. I was enjoying the silence, when this came:
It's fascinating, my Neflix List history, because I am still very interested in more than half the movies I have listed there...all 45 pages of them. 774 movies, I think they said. Wow.
My penchant for movies & movies about movies, generated the 1st two picks I made renting from Netflix back in 2004: TERMINAL, A guilty pleasure & adorable little Spielberg movie with the equally endearing TOM HANKS; and, OFF THE MENU: THE LAST DAYS OF CHASEN'S.
You know, I just told a friend I was electronically challenged & couldn't get into my NetFlix account for nearly 2 years. There's $288 down the tubes. But got in today & checked my Movie List history. It's cool...
@franticee I'm electronically challenged--never heard of either one of those places. Keep me informed & maybe I'll switch if you're gonna be there.
Thanks! My Internet & Twitter have been all aflutter. A lot of stuff from my Twitter acc changed or was lost & it keeps asking me if that was "me" that just logged in. ?? No clue. Maybe it's the "Elon Musk Effect"!
...provoked MTG into sounding like a big fat liar, a mean bitch, the underloved daughter of a toxic gun-lover, and someone who can't think her way out of a paper bag. And she did it by letting MTG hang herself. "Cringeworthy" should be reserved for the real heretic--MGT.
