Swift has dominated iOS development for nearly a decade, but Objective-C isn’t going anywhere just yet. While many new developers have never written a single line of Objective-C, understanding this powerful language remains a key skill for tackling legacy codebases, bridging frameworks, and mastering the full iOS development stack.
In this Swift Heroes 2025 talk, @zhbrass breaks down why Objective-C still matters and how it fits into modern iOS development:
- Why Objective-C is still used in enterprise and legacy projects
- Key differences between Swift and Objective-C syntax 🆚
- How to bridge Objective-C with Swift for seamless integration 🌉
- Unique features and advantages of Objective-C in 2025
📌 Watch the full talk and upgrade your iOS development skills!

@benjamintsmith7 Hey! Random question, is this your photo and would you be willing to sell it? DM if you’re interested. I’ve been looking for this CD for a long time
I’ve worked in this industry for over 12 years and I’ve seen this guy’s work. Trust me. He may be looking for a junior iOS role, but his abilities are way beyond that of a junior. I’d put my reputation on the line any day of the week (and twice on Sundays) to vouch for him.
Hey all! I'm still on the job hunt for a junior iOS dev position. I started doing iOS in undergrad and have focused on CS education since graduating. Unfortunately, I was impacted by layoffs at my most recent teaching position and could really use a new opportunity.
You want loyalty to your company? Hire a junior dev and grow the crap out of them. Plus it gives senior devs more opportunities for leadership and they’ll grow too!
