@scheitelpkt Well according to our culture, lineage comes from the father's side, not the mother's. So it depends on how strong you are with instilling your culture & language on your children whilst making sure your wife understands. Of course, this is much easier if your wife is Kurdish.

The giant flag raised today during Kurdistan Region President Nechirvan Barzani’s visit to Damascus carries much of the visit’s symbolic weight. Its display means the Kurdistan flag has now been raised officially in all four capitals governing sizeable Kurdish populations.

Iraq came first, where the 2005 constitution recognised the Kurdistan Region and its flag as an official banner. It was then displayed in Ankara in 2015 during then-president Masoud Barzani’s visit and flown publicly elsewhere in Turkey two years later. In 2021, it was raised in Tehran when Nechirvan Barzani attended President Ebrahim Raisi’s inauguration.

Damascus was the remaining capital. Its display there closes the circle a century after the partition of the Ottoman Empire divided sizeable Kurdish populations among three successor states, with Iran governing the fourth part.
