This shit is the peak of don't tweet after midnight bc why am I even ranting about this lol... Anyways, I lowkey think white ppl should stop using tribalism as an insult. It may only be semantic, but it is semantic oppression nonetheless. Imperialism bad, I will sleep now.
You know someone is white asf when they use "tribalistic mentality" to describe a person/group they dislike. Like idk man, gender nonconformity was normalized in a lot of indigenous Tagalog tribes while yall white asses had to learn that shit from queer people on the internet.
Tribalism is kind of a beautiful thing. So many indigenous tribes have such an innate, spiritual understanding of concepts that western theory spent centuries coming to grips with and honestly even still don't fully understand.
@nbodo222 The irony of her saying this too when the premise of the game involves a citywide lockdown enforced by the JSDF... like girl you cannot be serious rn😐😐😐
Takahashi's a visionary, no doubt, but not once have I seen a Xenoblade fan mention Koh Kojima, or Monolith fans mention Yasuyuki Honne, or Masato Kato, or Kunihiko Tanaka, and these guys are just the well-known ones, not to say anything of the unspoken contributions of hundreds.
It's idiotic when Xenoblade fans attribute Takahashi as the sole creative mind behind the series, especially when they pretended to care about Soraya Saga when she "suddenly" announced her retirement. They respect neither the artistry of the series nor MonolithSoft's history.
Maybe this comes off as a "guy who's only played FE" moment, but Devil Survivor is def scratching that Fire Emblem itch. Glad to be both a fan of FE and Megaten bc I feel like I can finally enjoy this game without any inhibitions.
Normally the "first game in the series is best" mentality rubs me the wrong way because I think all artists and groups should strive to make progressively better art, but with Xenogears I genuinely can't help myself. If there's any game worth being a hypocrite for, it's that one.
Also Xenogears was definitely built off the bones of the likes of FFVI and Chrono Trigger, which themselves were built off of FF and DQ respectively. It iterated on those games about as much MonolithSoft iterated on Gears itself. It's more cumulative than any game of its ilk.
One of them is indelible proof of the presence of god's divine providence and compassion within mankind, powerful enough to overcome any unspeakable cosmic force in the universe. The other is Kefka.
People saying it should be revelation. All these alleged Xeno "fans" always talkin abt how you should read the Bible in order to understand the series showing how they haven't actually read any of it smh
@ferocitq Some of the Vengeance-exclusive story content is actually pretty good imo, but your mileage on how much it does to salvage the og's shortcomings will vary. Def has more sauce than Creation but still unfortunately one of the weaker SMT stories despite being a net improvement.
