Coincée pendant plusieurs heures dans le véhicule, la petite fille reste au téléphone avec une opératrice du Croissant-Rouge palestinien et supplie qu’on vienne la sauver :

« J’ai très peur. S’il vous plaît, venez me chercher. Vous allez venir me chercher ? »

Dans la voiture se trouvent 7 personnes : 2 adultes et 5 enfants. Son oncle, sa tante, leurs 4 enfants et Hind. Parmi eux : Layan Hamada, 15 ans, Mohammed Hamada, 11 ans et Sarah Hamada, 4 ans.

Layan, 15 ans, est d’abord encore en vie. Au téléphone avec les secours, elle explique qu’un char se trouve juste à côté de leur voiture. Soudain, une rafale éclate : 64 tirs sont audibles en seulement 6 secondes, puis Layan ne répond plus.

Hind se retrouve alors seule survivante dans le véhicule.

Une ambulance avec deux secouristes est envoyée pour venir la sauver. Mais elle est frappée par un obus israélien : l’ambulance est détruite et les deux secouristes sont tués.

Douze jours plus tard, les corps de Hind, de ses 6 proches et des deux secouristes sont retrouvés.

👉 L’armée israélienne, qui avait initialement contesté la présence de ses forces dans la zone, reconnaît désormais que ses soldats ont tiré sur la voiture et qu’un obus israélien a également frappé l’ambulance venue secourir Hind.

Scrutinizing the Ellisons, including Oracle’s business built on data, surveillance technology and government contracts, and the serious threat to editorial freedom and the loss of a livelihood for thousands of families, is fair and necessary. The $111 billion deal would hand one family control over CNN, HBO and Warner Bros., backed in part by foreign money whose influence on editorial decisions has never been fully explained to the public. 

Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle have called for serious national security review, and regulators still haven’t given the public a real answer. Until they do, the merger shouldn’t move forward. Now is the time to dive boldly into all these issues, not step back or concede.
