MISSING PERSONS ALERT – CENTURION

Galaletsang Mokone (23), a male, wearing all-black clothing and
Gontse Lee Matjila (21), a female, wearing black pants and a white top. They were both last seen on Sunday 21 December in Centurion.
The two were travelling together in a Hyundai i30 with registration number FN91LG GP, which has also been reported missing. The vehicle’s tracking system last pinged on Sunday at approximately 06:00 near Jean Crossing, N14, Centurion.

Anyone with information that may assist in locating the missing persons or the vehicle is urged to contact the South African Police Service on 08600 10111, or call 082 945 4587, 082 738 7444, or 084 368 1773.

🇿🇦 CRIME ALERT!

Young farmer murdered by man with a history of violence

Rudi Gericke (42) from Ficksburg in the Free State is charged with murder, attempted murder and assault.

On 8 January 2023, Gericke allegedly murdered Evan Sorour (27), a farmer, and assaulted and attempted to murder his father, Reuter (57).

According to the indictment, on the fateful afternoon, father and son were driving their livestock, which had broken through the fence and were on Moolmanspruit Farm, back to their farm, Uitkyk, on motorbikes.

The state indicated Reuter was on his motorcycle when Gericke stopped him with his Land Cruiser. Gericke apparently hit him while he was on the motorcycle and Reuter fell off. Gericke reportedly continued to assault him and threatened to kill him.

Reuter ran away towards his son with Gericke following in his Land Cruiser. Evan was making a video of his bloody father with his cell phone when Gericke arrived.

According to the indictment, Evan and Gericke took out firearms and several shots were fired. Evan fell. Gericke approached and shot him again, according to the state.

Gericke's trial began today and will continue tomorrow.
