@ermac90210 @TreyStallings1 @Punisher__MAX@rianjohnson If the deconstruction didn’t mean to rebuild then there wouldn’t be a sequel to The Last Jedi. The whole point of the movie is the deconstruct, tear down, destroy, etc our idea of what a Jedi is
@ermac90210 @TreyStallings1 @Punisher__MAX@rianjohnson TLJ is literally an attempted deconstruction of Star Wars. The thing you’re defending is a type of destruction that, IMO, failed to rebuild the structure in an interesting way.
@GuyBruin@rianjohnson@4thGenBruin Yeah I loved the part where Rey was right the whole time and, beyond lip-service, didn’t change an iota as a character. Expert storytelling.
@ermac90210 @TreyStallings1 @Punisher__MAX@rianjohnson Much like Trump isn’t ruining anything, except the Democrats’ preconceived and rigid notions about America
@YNadaMasRM That’s the trick, we’re not supposed to better ourselves. We’re supposed to be uninformed wage slaves trained to push buttons and answer phones.
@Bad_Wrong_Fun@ChuckWendig A perfect example of this is Star-Lord in Infinity War. His reaction to what happened with Gamora was absolutely the worst way to handle the situation, but makes perfect sense for the character and is some pretty solid writing.
@GailSimone She was really just a deus ex machina. Both of her entrances (beginning and end) were very out of nowhere and just served to help move the plot along. She’s not memorable as a character in the film. I thought they should’ve left her out altogether. Nothing against the character.
