Q: Who pays for shipping supplies?
A: The zine should; it's generally accepted that zine budgeting would include costs for mailers, bubble wrap, labels, etc. But not all shipping supplies are as simple. What about DYMO label printers? https://t.co/5JQ8QiVNO2
I’ve been seeing stuff abt zines that have mods going MIA at different points in the process so I wanted to bring this back up again. Often it’s hard to tell when to worry— production CAN take time and real emergencies DO happen! But it’s impt to have a sense of what’s standard.

In general, I'd recommend learning how to work with mail merges when you're managing projects like zines--it's a very useful skill set to know when handling comms with a lot of people!

hey, so, after being in the zine scene as a writer since 2016, ive got some thoughts on what to watch for, how to stick up for yourself as a creator, and some pet peeves i wish werent as common. this applies to artists too, but since im a writer, i’ll spend more time on that!

Especially when it comes to writing, a lot of zines have their hearts in the right place but end up making odd layout decisions for fics, like setting margins too small (oh no, everyone went over word count but we need to limit page count!), using sans serif font for print
