Our love goes out to all those who have been affected by the tragic events at Big Church Festival.
We are praying for everyone involved and looking to the Father of compassion and God of all comfort for help.
Simeon took him in his arms and praised God, saying: "Sovereign Lord, as you have promised, you may now dismiss your servant in peace. For my eyes have seen your salvation, which you have prepared in the sight of all nations: a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel."
Luke 2:28-32
The Bible isn't just one type of book. It's a rich collection of history, poetry, prophecy, letters, wisdom and more.
That's one of the reasons it can sometimes feel challenging to read. A psalm isn't meant to be read in the same way as one of Paul's letters, and a parable communicates differently from a historical account.
When we recognise the different kinds of writing in the Bible, we begin to understand not only what the authors were saying, but how they wanted their readers to hear it.
