@jffxns While cool the drivers for this cannot do mesh shaders which some games require making it unfit as a direct competitor. The ps5 soc has a proprietary way of doing them that is not exposed in the Linux drivers iirc. But the steam machine is overpriced as hell.

@ingueferroque It's not even meeting the base ps5 in GPU/memory performance. Either valve got scammed by suppliers or valve is scamming the consumer. The steam machine is a mid/low gaming laptop without the things that make a gaming laptop cost that much.

@_holden_tm @riotgames Riot games tend to be cpu intensive due to being esports titles. Other games you play may be GPU bottlenecked which would probably mitigate the hardware flaw. I suggest testing using occt or prime95.

@anthonieisacnt @SPACEXDG @Rsoaker27 A base 3060 will be faster than the steam machines GPU. It's practically a rx 7600m which is a laptop grade rx7600. Which is like 250 usd. A r5 5500 will be pretty much the same speed as the GPU. A full PC build will be 700 USD or under and that's with no sales.
