That simple act of kindness changed my entire day.

After the meeting, he introduced himself properly. We discovered we were both from Ibadan, posted to Abeokuta for work in September 2017.

The ladies couldn't stop laughing and teasing me. I was embarrassed and wished the ground would open up.

Then Tobi spoke.

He smiled and said, "It could have happened to anyone."

He told me to stay calm, keep my composure, and not let it ruin my first day.

Only to discover... I had left home wearing my bathroom slippers.

Yes, my bathroom slippers.

By the time I realized it, I was already at the Branch Manager's office.

There were several other new employees waiting at the reception.

I had just gotten my first job, and I was over the moon.

I woke up before dawn, carefully ironed my corporate outfit, polished my shoes, cleaned my handbag, checked my offer letter several times, and went to work.
