@uqemirr Is it really that hard to graduate from a German university?
I’ve also heard another explanation: Germans really value work-life balance. Some students take a year off to have a baby, start a business. they spread their studies over a longer period.
Is that true?
@uqemirr Dear Germans, there’s a joke in China:
“The 4 years of your PhD in Germany will be the most fulfilling 5 years of your life. If you plan these 6years well, you’ll grow tremendously over those 7years. When you finally graduate and look back on those 8years,…”
@Peulh_bouxess In some European narratives, Mao Zedong was basically Thanos from Marvel.
He snapped his fingers, and tens of millions of Chinese people vanished. 💀
Hey friend👋
Is 666 really considered an evil number in Europe because of Christianity?
In China, 666 is actually a compliment! It means “Awesome!” or “Well done!” 😂
I’m curious how Europeans react when they see 666.
@xsturmhaube The Song dynasty is fascinating. Despite its military weakness, it lasted 319 years and left countless stories.
One famous saying attributed to Wang Anshi:
“Fear not Heaven’s omens. Follow not ancestral laws blindly. Be not swayed by public opinion.”
@niklas_911 Rice variety really matters!
Most supermarkets sell long-grain Indian rice(Basmati rice),
which is fine but lacks the texture and flavor of Chinese rice.
When I make sushi, I buy Japonica Rice instead.
