Let’s talk about relationships and religion because sometimes the hypocrisy is hard to ignore.
How can a lady come to church and testify that her toxic boyfriend finally left after she prayed about it, and everyone celebrates her for “escaping” the relationship? Yet that same community can turn around and look down on another woman because she got pregnant outside marriage.
The part people conveniently forget is that the woman who “escaped” the toxic relationship was also openly admitting that she had been having sex outside marriage. She didn’t necessarily escape the fornication, she escaped the toxic relationship. And if she enters another relationship and continues the same behavior, she could eventually end up pregnant too.
So why celebrate one situation while shaming another?
If the standard is supposed to be the same, then it should be the same. You can encourage someone for leaving a harmful relationship without pretending that everything about the relationship was morally right. And you can address pregnancy outside marriage without humiliating the person involved.
Grace shouldn't depend on which part of someone's story makes the community comfortable.
Damn, United really ran this boy’s career into the ground. I just hope he eventually gets to where he truly wants to be, because there’s clearly something in him. You can see the talent, the ability, and the potential to become the kind of player he wants to be. Hopefully, he finally gets the right environment to show it. 🥲⚽
@FabrizioRomano Damn, I’m really going to miss this guy. When he’s actually in the mood to play, he’s a nightmare for the Big Six. He’ll completely disrupt their game, cause chaos, and make them work for every penny. Proper baller on his day. 😭🔥
Well, they better hold on to the players they have now because they’re seriously lacking depth. They’ve already lost a lot of quality players to their rivals, so losing more would only make things worse.
But I still hope Chelsea can get their 6 points before they regroup and get back on track. 😂💙
That's convenient."
Elara looked at him.
"You don't have to trust me."
"I don't."
"Good."
She turned toward the approaching soldiers.
"Then stay alive long enough to decide."
The first soldier emerged from the trees.
"There's the boy!"
Several others followed.
The commander stepped into the clearing.
His eyes immediately found Elara.
"Lady Elara."
She raised her blade.
"Commander."
"You were ordered to bring him back."
"I know."
"Then move aside."
"No."
The commander's expression darkened.
"You're betraying the Crown?"
Elara tightened her grip.
"I'm protecting a prisoner."
"You've forgotten your place."
"No."
Her eyes narrowed.
"I've finally remembered it."
The soldiers raised their weapons.
Liger looked at Elara.
For the first time, he understood something.
She wasn't afraid of them.
She was afraid of what would happen if they took him.
The commander gave the order.
"Take them."
The soldiers charged.
Mara raised her hands.
A wall of blue energy erupted from the ground.
Several soldiers crashed into it.
Elara moved like lightning.
She struck the first soldier's weapon aside and kicked him backward.
Liger stood frozen.
He had never seen anything like it.
These people weren't normal.
They were something else.
One soldier slipped through Mara's barrier and rushed toward Liger.
Liger raised his hand instinctively.
The soldier stopped.
His shadow had been pinned to the ground.
The man's face went pale.
Liger stared at his own hand.
"I did that."
Azrael growled approvingly.
Then another soldier attacked.
Liger reacted without thinking.
The darkness exploded.
The soldier was thrown backward.
Liger stumbled.
He had barely recovered when a figure appeared behind him.
A blade flashed.
Elara moved between them.
The blade struck her shoulder.
She cried out and fell.
"Liger!"
He caught her before she hit the ground.
For a second, everything stopped.
He looked at the blood on her cloak.
Then at the soldier standing behind her.
Something inside him snapped.
The darkness returned.
But this time it wasn't wild.
It listened.
Black tendrils rose from the earth and wrapped around the soldier's weapon.
The blade shattered.
The soldier stumbled backward.
Liger's eyes turned completely black.
Azrael roared.
The entire forest went silent.
Every soldier froze.
Even the commander looked afraid.
He whispered a word.
"Veyr."
Liger stood there holding Elara.
And somewhere far beyond the mountains, something ancient answered his roar.
A second lion.
Then a third.
Then countless distant roars echoed through the night.
Mara stared into the darkness.
"No..."
Liger looked at her.
"What?"
She whispered the words that would change everything.
"The Spirit Beasts are waking."
Elara looked up at him.
Their eyes met again.
This time, neither looked away.
And neither of them noticed the small black mark that had appeared on Elara's wrist.
A mark shaped like a lion's eye.
Far away, inside the Aurelis palace, Emperor Caelan woke from his sleep.
He sat upright.
His breathing was heavy.
For three hundred years, the Veyr bloodline had been silent.
Tonight, it had roared.
And the emperor knew exactly what that meant.
He walked toward the enormous window overlooking the capital.
Six towers stood beneath the moon.
One for each surviving great house.
One by one, lights began appearing at their peaks.
The six families had felt it.
The Veyr had returned.
But Caelan knew something the others didn't.
The boy wasn't the greatest threat.
The girl was.
Because the moment Elara Aurelis had touched the Veyr bloodline, an ancient bond had awakened.
And if that bond completed itself...
the seven houses would have to choose between destroying Liger Veyr again,
or watching the world kneel before him.
THE LION OF THE ABYSS
CHAPTER THREE
The Girl of the Phoenix
"That's not the Veyr Spirit Lion."
Liger stared at Elara.
For several seconds, nobody moved. The wind passed through the trees, carrying the smell of smoke from the valley below. Behind them, the distant voices of the soldiers were getting louder.
"What did you call him?" Liger asked.
Elara's eyes remained fixed on the enormous black creature standing behind him. "The Lion of the Abyss."
Liger looked over his shoulder. Azrael stood perfectly still, his golden eyes reflecting the moonlight. The strange silver markings across his body seemed to move whenever the wind touched them, almost as though something beneath his fur was alive.
"My mother said he was our Spirit Lion."
Elara shook her head. "He may have belonged to your family once, but the creature standing behind you is something else."
Mara stepped forward. "Elara, you need to leave."
The young woman finally looked at her. "You knew this day would come."
"I knew they would eventually find him."
"You knew the prophecy would awaken."
Mara's expression hardened. "The prophecy is not what you think it is."
Elara gave a quiet laugh. "That's exactly what my father says."
"Your father is a liar."
The words came so quickly that even Liger noticed the anger behind them.
Elara's face changed. "Careful."
"You came here wearing the crest of the family that destroyed mine," Mara said. "Don't stand there and tell me to be careful."
Liger looked from one woman to the other. "Can someone please explain what is happening?"
Neither answered.
He stepped forward. "I'm tired of everyone talking around me as if I'm not standing here."
Mara looked at him.
Liger's voice became sharper. "You hid my identity. You hid my father. You hid this entire world from me. Now soldiers are hunting me, there's a giant lion following me, and apparently I'm connected to some prophecy that has six powerful families terrified. I deserve answers."
Mara lowered her eyes.
"You do."
A horn sounded from the valley.
Elara looked toward the mountains. "We don't have much time."
Liger turned toward her. "You said your family ordered mine destroyed."
"They did."
"Why?"
"I don't know."
"You expect me to believe that?"
"No."
Elara's answer was so calm that Liger didn't know how to respond.
She walked closer.
"I was sent here to bring you back alive. That's all I was told."
"Back where?"
"To the Aurelis capital."
"And if I refuse?"
Elara studied him.
"They'll send someone who won't ask."
Liger looked toward the valley.
More lights were appearing between the trees.
The soldiers were spreading out.
Mara grabbed his arm. "We have to go."
Elara stepped aside.
"There's a passage through the western ridge."
Mara looked at her suspiciously. "How do you know?"
"Because I've been here before."
"You've been following us."
"For three months."
Liger stared at her.
"Three months?"
Elara nodded.
"Why?"
"I wanted to see you."
Mara immediately moved between them.
Elara raised an eyebrow. "Not for the reason you're thinking."
"I don't care what reason you have. Stay away from him."
Liger frowned. "Why are you talking as if I'm five?"
"Because you're seventeen," Mara replied.
"I'm old enough to know when people are hiding something."
Elara almost smiled.
It was the first genuine expression Liger had seen from her.
"He's certainly a Veyr."
Mara glared at her.
"What?"
"Nothing."
Elara turned and started walking.
"Follow me if you want to live."
Liger hesitated.
Then he looked at his mother.
Mara gave him a reluctant nod.
They followed.
The three moved through the forest in silence.
Azrael walked behind them.
The enormous lion made almost no sound despite his size. Every now and then Liger glanced backward and found those golden eyes watching him.
There was something unsettling about the creature.
Yet strangely comforting.
Liger couldn't explain it.
After several minutes, they reached a narrow path between two cliffs.
Elara stopped.
"Wait."
Liger nearly walked into her.
She turned.
For a moment they stood only a few steps apart.
Liger noticed the silver pendant around her neck.
It carried the Aurelis phoenix.
"You really are one of them," he said.
Elara's expression became guarded.
"Yes."
"Then why help me?"
"I don't know."
"You keep saying that."
"Because it's true."
Liger studied her.
She looked different up close. Not because she was beautiful, although she was. It was because there was something tired behind her eyes, something that didn't belong in someone her age.
"You don't look like someone who wants to capture me."
Elara looked away.
"I don't."
"Then what do you want?"
She didn't answer immediately.
"My family has been preparing for your return for years."
Liger frowned.
"My return?"
"They knew you were alive."
Mara's face went pale.
"No."
Elara nodded.
"They didn't know where you were. But they knew the Veyr bloodline had survived."
Liger's heart began beating faster.
"How?"
Elara looked directly at him.
"Your father."
The name hit him like a stone.
"Adrian?"
She nodded.
"My father knew him."
Mara stepped forward. "How?"
"Before the fall of House Veyr."
"That's impossible."
"No. It's not."
Elara lowered her voice.
"Adrian Veyr wasn't simply hiding from the other houses. He was looking for something."
"What?"
"The Abyss."
The forest seemed to grow colder.
Liger looked at Azrael.
The lion had stopped walking.
His ears were raised.
Mara whispered, "Enough."
Elara shook her head.
"He deserves to know."
"You don't understand what you're talking about."
"My father has spent his entire life studying the Veyrs."
"And what did he discover?"
Elara hesitated.
"That the darkness wasn't given to your family."
Liger stared at her.
"What does that mean?"
"It means your ancestors didn't inherit the darkness from the Spirit Lion."
She looked toward Azrael.
"They awakened it."
Silence.
Liger felt something move inside his chest.
A cold pressure.
The black mark beneath his skin began to burn.
He grabbed his shirt.
Mara immediately noticed.
"Liger."
"I'm fine."
He wasn't.
The darkness beneath his skin spread outward like ink through water.
Azrael growled.
Elara took a step backward.
"What is happening?"
Mara looked terrified.
"The seal."
"What seal?"
Mara ignored her.
"Liger, listen to me. Whatever you feel, don't fight it."
"Don't fight what?"
"The darkness."
The ground beneath him cracked.
Liger fell to one knee.
A wave of black energy burst outward.
Trees bent away from him.
Elara was thrown backward.
Mara caught herself against a rock.
Azrael roared.
The roar wasn't angry.
It was a warning.
Liger looked at his hands.
Black smoke curled between his fingers.
He tried to stop it.
It grew stronger.
"Liger!"
He heard Elara shouting.
He looked toward her.
She was lying against the ground, staring at him.
Their eyes met.
Something changed.
The darkness around Liger suddenly stopped.
The smoke disappeared.
The cracks in the ground stopped spreading.
Liger breathed heavily.
Elara slowly stood.
"What did you do?"
"I didn't do anything."
"You stopped it."
"I told you. I don't know how."
Elara looked at him for several seconds.
Then she touched the phoenix pendant around her neck.
The pendant began glowing.
Azrael immediately moved between them.
His teeth showed.
Elara froze.
"Your lion doesn't like me."
Liger looked at Azrael.
"He doesn't seem to like anyone."
Mara shook her head.
"No."
She looked at the lion.
"He recognizes something."
Elara's expression changed.
"What?"
Mara didn't answer.
A second horn sounded.
This one was much closer.
Mara's face hardened.
"They're here."
Elara drew a short blade from beneath her cloak.
Liger stared at it.
"You brought a weapon?"
"I came expecting trouble."
"You were sent to capture me."
"I changed my mind."
No, this dude is genuinely one of the best directors in Serie A. He knows exactly when to put money on a player and when to walk away, and that’s a big reason why Inter are always competitive in the league. That said, he definitely has his flaws too, especially his tendency to rely on too many older players. But when it comes to building a competitive squad on smart deals, you have to give him his flowers.
@ByLorenOfficial@FabrizioRomano Bro auba Is the only big name here and he isn't all that anymore u just have to accept this Casado is a talented player for him too shine he need elite talent around him, talent bloom talent
Dude, you were so loved at this club, but you started feeling like you were bigger than the team. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a club fight this hard to keep a player, literally doing everything in their power to hold on to him, only for him to still walk away and hurt them.
But hey, best of luck at your new home. Once a Blue, always a Blue. 💙
@FabrizioRomano Okay, this is honestly uncalled for. You already agreed to it, and the player was already preparing himself to take on a much bigger responsibility. To pull out at this stage is a massive letdown. That’s a huge blow for him.
Looks like Milan are finally ready to compete again. They’re getting rid of the players who are no longer needed and bringing in fresh talent with a new vision. If they get this rebuild right, maybe we’ll finally see Milan rise back to the level of greatness we remember from the old days. 🔴⚫
@FabrizioRomano Haven’t watched much of this guy, but from everything I’ve heard, he’s a serious baller. Atlético need more reinforcements if they genuinely want to compete for and win the league. They can’t afford to stand still while the competition keeps improving.
