Back to Basics with Technology - a talk I gave at the Future of Coding London Meetup. It goes through some of my recent explorations in electronics, crochet and light + a bunch of ideas I’ve been mulling over: https://t.co/WVV3Fsq5qI

I made a Lego music cube to play Spotify songs using NFC tags. The original aim was just to quickly play Elizabeth Mitchell’s cover of Woody Guthrie’s “Sleep Eye” - a magical song that does wonders when in need of a soothed baby.

A Miffy night light I made for my niece's 5th birthday.
See it in action, set to ROSÉ + Bruno Mars’ APT (which I’ve since learnt is best heard at a 5yr old girl’s bday party): https://t.co/eV9Ijt31uj

Version 2 of my DIY battery holder for my LED noodles. This one has a toggle switch to turn on/off and a switch to limit current for higher voltage (3.7v) button cells.

Bought some more LED noodles to play with, from China.
Turns out it's called something along the lines of 线性灯橡皮筋灯丝 (xiànxìng dēng xiàngpí jīn dēngsī) - translates to linear light rubber band filament.
Making a simple light connector to help me prototype quicker with LED noodles. Soldered the LED noodles and battery holders to wires and then used crimping pliers to add pin connectors.
Wrapping up my experiments with MIDI by doing a refactor, extracting the useful bits into a repo and writing a proper README: https://t.co/cbI1Xt9ZXU

My crochet leaf light 🍃=> Freeform electronic design
"playful and creative approach to electronics design... Requiring no printed circuit boards or pre-drawn designs, this technique encourages sculptural intuition rather than functional efficiency." https://t.co/HIjQvILyTS ❤️

A crocheted leaf light
Hand made pressure sensor connected to a led noodle, sewn onto a crocheted leaf, connected to simple electronic circuitry on a protoboard, powered by a coin cell battery.
