Why do I support Israel as a Christian?

I support Israel as a nation because I support the Jewish people, the relatives of my Lord Jesus Christ.

@kylebeshears I think you’d agree LDS’s not monolithic. And certainly it’s doctrine changes over time. But it’s legacy is certainly present within Mormonism—even if it doesn’t mark mainline Salt Lake Mormons today.
@kylebeshears The legacy of the awakenings and an experiential proof for assurance. Assurance as a “saint” has be received by faith. I can know today that I believe! And if I believe today I know I have assurance.
@matthew_loftus I always think back to that quote from MLK: "It may be true that the law cannot make a man love me but it can keep him from lynching me and I think that is pretty important, also."
Truly astonishing:
Study of more than 700,000 cancer patients found for “prostate, breast, colorectal, esophageal, and head/neck cancers, the survival benefit associated with *marriage* was larger than the published survival benefit of *chemotherapy*.”

Literally only one of these will save your life in an emergency. Turns out it does matter who you click with, if you want a future.
Obvious lesson here is to pay attention to DESIGN. Design matters.
I use Matt Rhodes’ book and intend to continue using it. Three reflections on the conclusion of the recent review of his book:
1) The Shipman portions deserve the critique;
2) The Shipman trees should not allow us to miss the forest of Rhodes’ call for more robust strategies;
@Pohlman I think you’re the guy to do it with your media experience! Should also explore the contrast and appeal between two other media extremes: reels and long-form podcasts like Joe Rogan Experience.
People who forget this will be astounded at how quickly those record labels and publishing houses and parachurch ministries fold under societal pressure. They will be disheartened at the fickleness of celebrities and grandees and the muckety-muck.
