@MeteoMark Certainly very questionable. The NWS site at the airport isn't too far from your location? 1.1" could even just be the liquid QPF precip value not snowfall...
@NWSPittsburgh One note on "car" temperatures, interstate travel in particular will raise the temperatures of a thermometer on a car due to high levels of friction on the surface of the road - so shouldn't the temperatures at >1m on a highway with traffic be 2-3+F warmer?
@Allegheny_Co Fort couch road under @PGHtransit rail line had worsened considerably in the recent days. I'm very concerned there is a sinkhole forming on the road which could cause considerable road damage but also abutment damage to T line structure
@MaryOursWX@KDKA Probably should mention the municipalities affected, as it'd primarily just the Monongahela Valley that's affected and not the entire county
@NWS_MountHolly@AirKnight87 Has there been any consideration into breaking the higher and lower elevations of Monroe, Warren, and sussex counties out for advisories and warnings? NWS Pittsburgh has done this very recently for the mountains to the east of Pittsburgh https://t.co/DADM8ARbPP
๐จThe Indiana County zone split is in effect as of today. The intent is to better serve these two distinct areas, as elevation differences have notable impacts to temperature, precipitation, accumulation, etc. Full statement can be found here: https://t.co/oKmVp4KJbS
Unseasonably cool weather starts today and will continue through at least Friday. Chances for snow also increase during this period due to lake enhancement.
