If we're rewriting football history now, I have a small suggestion:
I'd like FIFA to rescind the yellow card shown to Michael Ballack in the 2002 World Cup semifinal, the one that ruled him out of the final.
And while we're at it, we might as well replay the final against Brazil.
@StephenChaconas Spot on! What many US fans fail to realize is that American players often get into better European clubs than their actual level is because of commercial reasons. If Pulisic were born and raised in Croatia, he never would have made it to Chelsea or Milan.
Dear @FA, can we invite Mexico for a Wembley friendly, please? Outside Azteca, England fans swapping shirts with Mexicans, England fans and Mexicans drinking and singing together. Mexico been wonderful hosts. Be great to see them and their fans at Wembley. Not been since 2010.
Well America did a great job of arriving, being a bit of fun, then completely ruining any goodwill or support anyone else had for them, and then losing fairly embarrassingly. Nice one
I will also say, this scandal has exposed many, many supposedly liberal Americans. It turns out that you're not so opposed to Trump's corruption and rot and Epstein-built personal connections when it benefits you.
the worst part about this whole thing is the gaslighting, like this wasn’t a clear red, therefore an injustice corrected. this is one of the clearest red cards i’ve ever seen, balogun almost breaks his opponent’s ankle. https://t.co/WX9THOpYmY
Genuinely cannot believe what I’m seeing from US Sports figures I previously respected. No wonder you people are leading the world into fascism, you people will go along with *anything* if it comes draped in a flag
I'm disappointed. Americans still don't get it. This game is the great equaliser, anyone can play and anyone can win. A kid from the favelas of São Paulo has just as much of a chance as a dentist's son from Milan. No one gets to break the balance with an unfair advantage.
