I keep waiting for things to get really hedonistic and fun since everything sucks. instead it appears that Americans are going to spend the fall of our empire scrolling on their phones watching short form content or arguing about delivery apps
I'm a proponent of imperfect masking. I mask on transit, in stores, and in health care settings. I have a few activities I do sans mask because it either would not notably decrease the risk, or because it's just impractical. I'm rarely sick as a result, and it's totally worth it.
So much of the loneliness crisis is the product of alienation and hyper individualism mediated through spectatorship. You watch the world on your phone designed to usurp your instincts against yourself and begin to think youre the only real person in the world
I wish people weren’t so scared to give each other constructive critique, and wouldn’t get so offended when they receive it
This is how we end up w so much mid music and art, everyone’s too worried about hurting their friends’ feelings instead of helping them grow
part of the reason I can be slow to realize someone’s a clout chaser is because it’s hard to imagine anyone putting themselves through the constant humiliation rituals of having a public artist ‘career’ for any other reason besides unconditionally loving art and music
@DinkthePoof i've been hosting an open decks in dc where we do 3 track rotations instead of set times, and it's been a really great way to get new people into the scene & build community
@gawkamania@JewishCurrents@EthicalNYC@AymanMSNBC i think it's clear this is targeted at american jewish spaces, though, which are HEAVILY propagandized by zionist rhetoric. i don't read this as implying that jewish liberation should take priority over dismantling zionism, but rather that it will happen because of it.
I love all of you. They are doing Nazi hand gestures and speaking obscenities to break your spirit and put out your light. Don’t let them get to you. Every single one of you matters.
