Most children spend their childhood building sandcastles by the sea. Thaaragai Aarathana chose to protect the sea itself.
Introduced to the ocean before she could even walk, the Chennai girl was swimming by the age of two and diving by five. But every dive showed her a painful reality.
Plastic bottles, wrappers, fishing nets, and marine life are struggling to survive.
Instead of looking away, she got to work.
From joining beach clean-ups as a child to helping remove nearly 3,000 kg of plastic waste from the ocean, Thaaragai has turned her love for the sea into a mission.
She has even swum across the Palk Strait to raise awareness about marine pollution.
In 2025, she took that message underwater, performing Bharatanatyam nearly 20 feet below the surface to spotlight the growing threat of ocean plastic.
Today, alongside her father, she continues to inspire people to protect the waters that sustain life.

Words cannot express how immensely proud I am to see my dear friend, the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, @AAKSarod, and his incredibly talented sons, Amaan and Ayaan, honoured at the Grammys. It would take a symphony!
Having been blessed with Amjadbhai’s friendship for more than forty years, I have had the privilege of watching his lifelong devotion to the sarod, his deep reverence for music, and his unmatched grace both on and off the stage. This prestigious recognition is a testament to his enduring legacy and his family's brilliant contribution to global music. And it’s fitting that the honour is for an album that embodies the finest values of Indian secularism, which the family embodies in its own life.
Respected Khan Sahib, dear Amjadbhai, congratulations on this spectacular and well-deserved milestone! Sending you, Amaan, and Ayaan my warmest love, admiration, and respect. Here is to celebrating many beautiful memories and many more milestones to come!

When I saw this video, my first thought was that the earth, very often, sends us messages.
This tree, facing constant winds, is still standing, & has neither fallen nor been uprooted.
Instead it’s been shaped by it.
And developed its own unique aesthetic & identity.
We have to recognize & accept that tough times & tragedies are part of the journey.
They don’t define us, they simply give us our own unique personalities & capacities…

Since childhood, we trade today for a “better tomorrow”, often chasing things we don’t even value. Don’t bet your happiness on success. Success also needs luck along with effort. Keep in mind, happiness isn’t having what others have, it’s appreciating what is yours.
An angry lady’s image shouting at a political leader and his party for having stopped the road has gone viral.
That one woman has said what millions of us feel. Stop blocking roads for your political agendas. Stop blocking roads, temples, for VIPs.
People have work, emergencies, lives. This entitlement has gone too far.
Tim Cook is stepping down as CEO of Apple, as valuation of Apple hits $ 4 Trillion. .. so what’s next ? Will Apple rise to $ 8 trillion next ? Or will the world in times of AI confront the reality.. that valuation and value are just not the same , and valuations come crashing down?
However Apple has constantly risen through amazing technological innovations. From the first Apple computer , to the cell phone as a mere phone , to the cell phone as a Camera .. to wearables ..
.. Apple excelled at creating devices .. and then fire walling their devices by developing an eco system that did not allow other companies/ technologies to permeate their fire walled ecosystem..
.. it’s where the term ‘Walled Garden’ came from ..
Are there future technologies where we won’t need ‘devices’ , and where ‘walled gardens’ themselves become limitations to growth .. ?
1) AI is already becoming a threat to size. I have already been arguing that AI is the most democratic technology ever to be available to us .. and where everyone , yes everyone .. can be their own CEO .. explore their own potential ..
2) .. and the democratization of work, jobs , education , the way we communicate , create societies and communities , will lead to societies where you and I, our children , our communities become highly individualised .. so much that we no longer fit into the rules of pyramidical structures that rule the creation and sustaining of large corporations ..
3) … will huge corporations like Apple then collapse under their own weight ?
4) but the most intigujng question is ..
‘can we now see a world without devices?’
Elon Musk talks about the chip in the brain but that is still a device..
A) for the answers to imagine a non device world we need to look at Nature .. how do migratory birds find their way year after year over thousands of miles, to almost the same tree .. year after year .. with no device ?
B) what we call the ‘Murmurings of the Starlings’ .. where a flock of a thousand sparrows will fly twisting and turning instantaneously, without a leader or a follower .. almost intuitively
C) The connectivity of the Mycellium of the Soil that has for centuries created communities.. which are what Rain Forests .. or Forests are .. without any device .. where connectivity of the mycellium of the soil is almost instantaneously.. almost intuitively ..
With the coming of AI .. and speeds of connectivity that i have always called connectivity at the speed of thought
Or let me try a different phrase for that ..
Can we be connected at the
.. ‘Speed of Intiution ?
Without a need for a device ? Is the reliance on devices killing our Intuitive instincts ?
