I'm so excited to be reading at @ParnassusBooks1
this April 19th! Parnassus has been my favorite bookstore for years, and it's an honor to read there. Registration is required for this event, so please sign up at this link if you'd like to attend: https://t.co/6ycdK8Z6G3
I taught poetry to two fifth-grade classes at Lipscomb Elementary, introducing the role of a laureate and encouraging students to see poetry as accessible to everyone. Students created call-and-response weather poems that blended science and imagination. I’m grateful to @WCSedu!
I’m excited to join Granville Center for the Arts on January 25th to lead a community-wide poetry workshop. We’ll explore list poetry with hands-on prompts, and time to write and share together. Writers of all experience levels are warmly welcome!

I am more than thrilled to be named the 2025 Tennessee Youth Poet Laureate by @urbanwordnyc. This laureate program has a rich history of urging social progress and championing artistic voices, and I couldn't be more excited to serve my state in this way.

I am excited and honored to receive first place in @DenisonU's annual fiction and poetry competitions. Denison's English department has been such a compelling and encouraging place so far, and I look forward to getting even more involved!
If you are supervising an international student who is trying to write in their non-native language - tell them how awesome they are. They often feel incompetent, frustrated and even stupid. In reality they're really smart - just doing something very complicated. Tell them.
