Last week I had appointments with psychiatry, neurology and ophthalmology. I rescheduled the latter 2 in favour of my psychiatry review. Speaks volumes I think. If my mind is not well, then everything else is irrelevant #bipolar #bipolaruk #depression

@ProfDanielSmith @Sunday_Post As a GP with bipolar, it’s important to note that GPs recognising bipolar earlier isn’t the only problem. Many of my referrals to psychiatry for clarification of diagnosis are declined/rerouted. Patients aren’t seen by psychiatry until crisis point because of lack of resource.

@Telegraph I am a GP and we are not negligent, stupid or careless. This is a tragic case. We work with no funding and constant abuse from the public (as per thread), tories and private providers. We are human beings doing a hard job in terrible circumstances. We are the scapegoats.

Bipolar is horrid. It’s 27 degrees, glorious sunshine and I’ve been depressed for a week. Not able to work. Last week I was telling my friend how I didn’t need meds anymore, I felt so good. All taken from me in a blink of an eye without warning. Not sure what I did to deserve it.
