8 major hospitals have declared critical incidents in the last 24hrs alone.
Some of the 100s patients are stranded on trolleys, in corridors & in the back of ambulances will likely die there.
This isn’t normal, inevitable or attributable to viruses alone. It’s a catastrophe.
We have a population that is changing, and we can't keep doing the same thing.
Bringing someone to the ED is an intervention that may not be in their best interests.
We need to get better for them and for us.

Stop prioritising the hiring of more staff to replace to the ones that leave and who will eventually quit themselves.
Instead figure out why current staff want to leave.
Our staff are human beings not a statistic.
The great resignation is upon us!
Working for the NHS has proven to reduce your lifespan according to a large study.
However, every year thousands of people still want to work for the NHS.
Therefore, trusts need to focus & priorities the welfare of their own staff first.
So the staff can do what they do best!
Today we encountered one of the most serious incidents we have experienced at the football club. During the vets fixture one of the opposition players collapsed, stopped breathing and did not have a pulse. Our club defibrillator was used to get his heart going again.

I provided care to a patient who when their physical health improved so too did their mental health. In another patient, once their mental health improved so too did their physical health. Mental & physical health are deeply & inextricably interconnected & cannot be be separated.
