This is a hard article to read, but I hope you'll do so. I've spent some time reporting on widespread rape and other sexual violence of Palestinian male and female prisoners by Israeli authorities, and the article is now published. The assault victims were warned not to give speak of what they endured -- they were sometimes told they would be killed or raped if they gave interviews -- but they found the courage to do so. One man described being raped three times in a single day in Israeli prison, the third time after he tried to protest. A young woman said the guards would come in at the beginning of each shift and strip her naked and abuse her. Another reported that she was shown photos of herself being raped and warned they would be released unless she cooperated with Israeli intelligence. Even three children who had been detained told me they had been sexually abused. Look, whatever our position on the Middle East, we should be able to agree on being anti-rape. Sexual assaults were horrific when Israeli women were targeted on Oct. 7, and they're equally horrific when Israeli authorities use them against Palestinians day after day after day. We should be able to find common ground in opposing rape. Here's a gift link to the article: https://t.co/aMMHId49OO
Dave Chappelle slams DJ Khaled for staying silent on the genocide in Palestine
“You are Palestinian, how could you be so quiet right now?
And why are you so fat? People are starving in Gaza . He’s the only fat Palestinian on Earth right now.”
Today marks four years since my aunt, Shireen Abu Akleh, was killed by an Israeli sniper in Jenin.

Cases of SIM card scams are rising. In most cases, the scam goes like this: you receive an email or SMS claiming you've won millions from your bank, SARS, or even the national lottery. The scammers send you an email or SMS enticing you to log in to your internet banking through a fake page they have set up to get your login details. This is called ‘phishing’, when it’s done through your emails, or ‘smishing’ when it’s done using an SMS.
Prior to transacting online, most internet banking customers receive OTPs (one-time pins) and other verification numbers via SMS. Having already fleeced you of your log-in details, fraudsters now need your SIM card – and they don't even need to steal it from your phone.
It takes only a few minutes for them to go to your service provider pretending to be you, declare that your SIM card has been lost, destroyed or stolen, and receive a new one that is linked to your cellphone number - the same number that your bank sends your top-secret OTPs and ‘In Contact’ messages to.

This Fraud Week we’ll look at different kinds of cybercrimes that threaten the safety of your bank account and online activity.
Starting with 'Mule Fraud', a new scam doing the rounds. A money mule is someone who receives and moves money that came from victims of fraud. If someone you don’t know sends you money and asks you to forward or transfer the money, you could be fueling fraud by serving as a money mule.
Don’t share your personal details such as contact details, ID number, and bank account number with strangers online.

When we criticize the city and saying that no one cares about it being a tourist destination, we are not being petty nor playing politics.
Show me any other tourist city that is this dark during peak hour?

Where is the support corporate SA? Why not sell clothes to support victims of GBV?
Why only sell clothes in support of LGBTQ? @WOOLWORST_SA
Where is the support for millions of women that even shop in your stores & may be victims of GBV?
Every year SA corporates fly their pride flags high in June but there is absolute silence from them when 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is on in Nov.
Do corporates just do what is internationally fashionable?
Do they know we have a massive GBV pandemic ? 1/
Excellent way of ensuring no one can be held accountable for load-shedding. 1. Split responsibilities among many people. 2. Give each limited powers. 3. Ensure they resent each other. 4. Resolve nothing. 5. Avoid having to hold one person to account. Many corporates do the same.
