Six Texas officials in Frio County just got hit with voter fraud charges for an illegal vote harvesting scheme.

The county judge faces three counts. Two city council members and a school board trustee are among those charged.

This stems from a multi-year investigation. A grand jury reviewed the evidence and returned the indictments.

These are public officials tied to local elections now facing felony accusations for how they allegedly handled ballots.

Real talk: The people who help run the system got caught crossing the very lines meant to protect it.
