@Benif_ch I've also simplified the portfolio over the past year. Only two individual positions. Around 60/40 equity/bond allocation. Might be too conservative/defensive but it's what currently makes me feel more comfortable.
@ValueStockGeek Hi, how about just owning an All World ETF? To keep things simple and not try making macro forecasts. What do you think? (this is in response to your US stocks and International stocks performance tweet, i can't reply to that)
@Benif_ch @stoic_alonso I agree on No 10. Love it. Beefeater 24 is another strong option. However i recently started using Plymouth Gin in Negronis and G&T and i am really enjoying it.
@Benif_ch As for anything alcohol related i take most opinions with a grain of salt. Bulls and bears. When things were going well it was because of premiumisation and the future was bright. Now, after 1-2 years, the industry is supposed to be in a structural decline.
@Benif_ch What i remember is that he made me paranoid about apocalyptic scenarios. Not that i have done anything to prepare myself for such an event but still.
@rationalwalk (5) The main (huge) issue that the US has is the fiscal situation and that's where the focus and effort should be. Not trying to go back to some form of autarky.
@rationalwalk (4) Japan and Germany (EU) have had goods trade surpluses for decades and have experienced much less growth than the US. The EU actually has a huge services deficit with the US. Is it because the US competing unfairly or because US service providers are just better at it?
@rationalwalk (3) Has the dollar actually dropped in value compared to other major currencies since the article was written? Yen, Eur for example? Foreigners are buying US assets including the S&P which has been a tremendous wealth boon to US citizens.
