TOMORROW!! Zone 3 Press and the Creative Writing Program at APSU are pleased to host the second annual Tennessee's Emerging Creative Writers Contest. This contest is designed to encourage high school creative writers and foster their growing literary voices.
Recognition of skill and talent is given at every grade level (9th - 12th). All Finalists and Winners will have their works published in Red Mud Review—an anthology of student creative work.
The Zone 3 Writers Festival will host a book fair on Friday, April 17th from 9:00AM - 3:30PM! Customs House Museum, Reading Rock Books, CECA, Zone 3, Birmingham Poetry Review, and the APSU Languages & Literature department are just a few of the exciting guests attending!
Zone 3 has partnered with Pulitzer Prize finalist Rebecca Makkai for our 2nd annual Zone 3 Writers' Festival kickoff event.
She is joined by three amazing authors: Kim Brooks, Jessie van Eerden, and Su Cho.

Today, we celebrate author, poet, & past Zone 3 contributor L.S. McKee! McKee will read from her poetry collection "Creature, Wing, Heart, Machine" at the Writers Here & Now: Alumni Book Launch at the University of Maryland on April 8th. For more info: https://t.co/4wk9l3XyPS
The celebration will start with a reading event hosted by Rebecca Makkai on the 16th, at 6:00pm.
April 17th will be a full day of panels, readings, craft talks, and workshops.
Finally, on April 18th, we will celebrate the accomplishments of Tennessee high school writers.
