A decade after Britain's momentous Brexit vote, any politician would have to be out of their tiny mind to campaign for Britain to rejoin the EU

Remember when a man in a psychotic episode stabbed two Jews in Golders Green and you didn't stop hearing about it for a week. Whereas this will be forgotten by tomorrow.
Donald Trump recalls meeting the President of Egypt:
“He was in a hotel, and I met him, and we fell in love, deeply in love. He didn’t even wanna meet Hillary [Clinton], he said “you’re going to win”… We had great chemistry, and I stayed twice as long as I was supposed to”
So Elon and Tom Rob decided to use a vanilla druggy skirmish as the Reichstag Fire for their ongoing project to turn Northern Ireland into Ulster Rhodesia? Must be the third time they’ve tried this, and our Keir is too scared to upset the Boer and the sniffhead skinhead.
Sixth wealthiest country in the world and we can't even reliably provide clean drinking water in parts of the country anymore.
Nationalise. No compensation.
There are people behind their screens who see these rescue workers tending to a girl and her father, and they press a button and end their lives, then go get lunch as if they are not monsters who should be in prison for life
Andy Burnham voted for the Iraq War, an illegal war that killed over a million people.
As Health Secretary, he helped drive NHS privatisation.
He joined Labour Friends of Israel, opposed BDS as “spiteful”, praised Israel as a “democracy”, and called the Balfour Declaration “British values in action”. He is a Zionist.
Stop pretending he’s a radical alternative, he’s more of the same.
There should be (maybe there is? not an economist) a metric like productivity but for how efficiently GDP/head -> quality of life. The US would rank near the bottom; cars and McMansions are cages reflecting lack of public spaces, impossibility of independence without driving etc.
@MacaesBruno True. But equally, the obviously deep wealth of American suburbia - the houses and cars etc etc - cannot be ignored. We just don’t have that here, outside of a few areas.
Every day when I wake up in a beautiful city, minutes walk from an arts scene, museums, dozens of great restaurants, public transport etc., I curse my life that I can't live in a McMansion and have to drive 45 minutes to buy fresh vegetables
I have done the "driving around" test the authors advocate in both the UK and Italy in the last few years; in each case the countryside was beautiful and also *clearly* poorer than American-heartland suburbia.

The labour party replacing Starmer with Andy Burnham is going to be the equivalent of when evil banks started putting people with Northern accents in their adverts to seem relatable after the GFC
Keir Starmer is like one of those animals that lays eggs once and then dies (with "lays eggs" in this case meaning "kicks the left out of the labour party and abolishes jury trials on behalf of israel")
