Held very comprehensive and meaningful discussions on India’s energy sector under the visionary leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji, with my fellow parliamentarians and colleague @TheSureshGopi Ji at the Meeting of Consultative Committee of MPs of Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas on Availability and Affordability of Petroleum Products. 
It was heartening to see as many as 27 Hon’ble members of the committee present for our interaction and exchange of ideas and suggestions pertaining to the overall energy scenario and matters specific to the constituencies of the MPs.

I brought to their attention how under the decisive leadership of PM Modi Ji, India was able to successfully navigate geopolitical adversities to ensure affordability and availability of energy for our citizens without any shortage.

Excise Duty on Petrol & Diesel has been raised by ₹2/litre wef April 08, 2025. HPCL will absorb this increase so as to keep retail prices unchanged. This move protects consumers and supports OMCs by potentially offsetting LPG under-recoveries. @HPCL @PetroleumMin @Avinashhpcl

Very happy to meet the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs & Trade HE Mr Peter Szijjarto again today after our previous interactions in New Delhi in February 2024 and when I visited Budapest in March 2022 under Operation Ganga to evacuate the Indian students who were affected by the 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 conflict. 
I deeply value his understanding of the geopolitical situation and the recent dynamics as a professional and practitioner. His assessment of the global energy scenario and the situation as it emerges now has been realistic and pragmatic. We also discussed opportunities for collaboration in areas of green hydrogen and civilian nuclear energy which are among key drivers of our journey towards energy security & green energy transition under the leadership of PM @narendramodi Ji.

To enhance India’s energy security and supports the national target of raising the share of natural gas to 15% in the energy mix by 2030, we are pleased to announce the successful commissioning of the 5 MMTPA LNG Regasification Terminal, developed by HPCL LNG Ltd., our wholly owned subsidiary, with an investment of approx. INR 47.50 Billion at Chhara, Gujarat.

The terminal’s receipt and storage facilities were commissioned on 12th January 2025, following the successful unloading of the first LNG cargo.

Operating on a “tolling” model and open to third-party users, this critical infrastructure marks a significant step in HPCL’s strategy to strengthen its presence across the entire Natural Gas value chain.
