Juris Protocol Founder Writes Open Letter: LUNC Must Build or Perish
In a stark letter to the Terra Classic community, @JurisProtocol founder Puya argues that terra-luna:native’s second chance, despite its $100B crash, will go to waste without real development.
"The network can’t recover from politics, noise and waiting for Binance or others," he writes.
Following the example of Lee Kuan Yew, Puya explains that whatever remains of the community’s capital needs to be used to develop infrastructure: lending platforms, liquidity, bridges, dev tools, and an on-chain economy.
The letter also marks the decision to make Project Flywheel L1-agnostic and an opt-in component of the Juris Protocol ecosystem.
According to the lending platform on LUNC, it will keep building despite the lack of support.
The founder’s letter is clear: resurrection will only happen because of those executing.
With $JURIS staking module receiving 100% of the @LUNCSwapfun DEX revenue until end of 2026, lending and borrowing going full public whenever @SolidProof_io audit is finished, and all that native in your @luncdash wallet..
..I wonder how high we go when $JURIS lists on Solana 👀
AN OPEN LETTER TO THE COMMUNITY ✉️
In real life, you only get one chance 99% of the time.
$LUNC has been given a second chance — an opportunity to make something truly exceptional and generational happen. Not only for #TerraClassic, but for the crypto space as a whole.
If we, as a community, can overcome our differences and somehow make the unthinkable happen — if we can fully revive this ecosystem against all odds — this could become a powerful narrative for an entirely new bull run.
Never before has a $100B ecosystem collapsed and then been rebuilt, brick by brick, against all odds, by what someone once beautifully described as “some random Internet friends.”
There may be a small chance that there is a grand plan for this chain. But after attending conferences, speaking with industry insiders, and being deeply involved in the ecosystem myself, I simply don't see that probability being higher than a few percent at best.
So I am asking everyone right now:
Shouldn't we do EVERYTHING in our power to increase those odds?
Shouldn't we do everything we can to create a situation in which @binance or @cz_binance might eventually decide to openly support the ecosystem and become more involved than they have been so far?
The chain will always remain grateful for everything they have already done.
And honestly — do you really believe that @luna_lover69 or @frag_dude are opposing or actively trying to prevent that kind of support?
Do you really think that we, as founders of a project aiming to become one of the pillars of DeFi on this chain, who have spent personal funds to promote it around the world, and oftentimes to support its development and maintenance out of pocket, wouldn't give everything we have for @yzilabs to invest in the Layer 1?
Of course we would.
But with everything said, do you honestly believe that any of the entities mentioned above would be attracted to a chain that is:
not building,
not growing,
not marketing itself to the real world,
not maintaining connectivity with other chains,
not attracting new liquidity,
not attracting developers,
not attracting applications,
and not even attempting to bootstrap a small, sustainable on-chain economy without constant external support?
And more importantly:
Do you really think this is something they would want to invest money into as a business?
Would a chain that simply waits for others to burn their funds, time, and resources while offering little in return be something that anyone could confidently market to the broader crypto industry?
I don't think so.
Wouldn't you agree that the only realistic way to pull $LUNC out of the mud is through honest building, consistent execution, and the careful reconstruction of the flywheel economy that made $LUNA and $UST so powerful in the first place?
It's time for the chain to choose a path.
We've chosen ours.
With $JURIS, we remain laser-focused on our mission: restoring $LUNC to glory.
We sincerely hope the community supports us. And even if that support is limited initially, we will continue trying to make it work — one way or another.
As project founders, we have made a promise to our own community, to the remaining DeFi enthusiasts, and to newcomers entering the ecosystem:
We will keep building.
Regardless of the obstacles.
That is exactly what we intend to do.
We will continue implementing Project Flywheel and do everything within our power to make it as successful as possible.
However, we no longer believe that the L1 itself is the right place for Project Flywheel to exist.
Therefore, our intention is for Project Flywheel to become part of the Juris Protocol ecosystem — fully integrated into our protocol while remaining an opt-in feature for anyone who wants to participate.
We don't believe the future of $LUNC will be created by waiting for someone else to save us.
We believe it will be created by those who are willing to build.
Brick by brick.
Against all odds.
Puya,
Founder of Juris Protocol
PROJECT FLYWHEEL — A SMALL TEASER 🌀
Back in 2024, Juris Protocol did not exist.
There was no money market.
No validator.
No DEX.
No institutional discussions.
No Project Flywheel.
There was basically a meme (,not a meme), a small community — and a ridiculous amount of conviction.
I still remember one of the conversations with DJ and Lu.
I was standing at a small train station in Düsseldorf, talking about whether something serious could actually be built on Terra Classic.
I let train after train pass for almost two hours because I was way too excited to end the call — and genuinely worried that if I got on the train, the connection would drop. 😂
After weeks of analysis and discussion, Lu eventually gave us the answer we had been hoping for:
Yes. A real decentralized money market could be built on Terra Classic.
And even more importantly, he didn't just want to advise us from the sidelines.
He wanted to actively help build it.
That conversation became one of the moments that eventually led to Juris Protocol.
Two years later, a lot has changed.
Terra Classic has matured.
Juris has matured.
What started as an experiment slowly became infrastructure — and after an enormous amount of development, testing, failures, rewrites and learning, Juris is now approaching the point where the vision we talked about back then can finally become a real public product.
But Juris was never supposed to become the ecosystem.
We have supported projects across Terra Classic for years and intend to continue doing so.
A healthy ecosystem cannot depend on one company, one protocol, one validator or one personality.
It needs competition.
It needs independent builders.
It needs different ideas.
At the same time, we believe teams that have the resources, infrastructure and conviction to take responsibility should take responsibility.
And that is where Project Flywheel comes in.
The plan is ambitious:
Rehabilitate Terra Classic on both the technical and economic layer.
Reintroduce proven flywheel systems.
Create productive on-chain activity instead of relying primarily on extraction and taxation.
Build around low fees, useful financial primitives, attractive yields, simple UX and access that can actually work for ordinary users.
And eventually use Terra Classic's unique position to bootstrap adoption in markets where crypto is not a toy, but potentially useful financial infrastructure.
Turkey.
Thailand.
Nigeria.
MENA.
Potentially Iran and other underserved markets.
At the same time, there is another audience that should not be ignored:
The old crypto OGs, investors and builders who lived through LUNA.
Some were destroyed by it.
Some escaped in time.
Many of them still watch Terra from a distance.
And yes — people are watching.
One thing @luna_lover69 has only partially revealed so far is that Juris has an advisor who we deliberately kept away from the noise of the LUNC community.
Someone with an extraordinary network who has quietly helped with introductions, discussions and connections whenever it mattered.
All we will say for now:
It isn't only Crypto Twitter watching what is happening here.
Over the last two years we have lost count of how many people told us:
"Build somewhere else."
"Move to another chain."
"LUNC is dead."
"Stop wasting your time."
"Just call it a day."
@frag_dude and @luna_lover69 refused.
And so did many others.
Not only people who like Juris.
Even people who dislike Juris, dislike its founders, disagree with us politically, economically or technically — they have still contributed to keeping this chain alive.
That matters.
Because Terra Classic was supposed to disappear.
Instead, years later, the community is still here.
Still listed on Binance, Kraken and major exchanges.
Still regularly trending across X, CoinMarketCap and CoinGecko.
Still producing new infrastructure despite limited liquidity and weak on-chain activity.
We helped bring terra-luna:native back to WEEX, secured a major marketing campaign for the chain, and are already working toward opportunities for additional Terra Classic ecosystem listings.
We have represented LUNC at major international crypto events where exchanges, funds, builders, market makers, infrastructure providers and institutions meet.
And behind all of that are people spending their own time, money and income building things for this chain.
Sometimes without asking governance for a cent.
Sometimes without even knowing whether what they are building will ever become profitable.
That is very different from the part of crypto whose only objective is maximum extraction from a community.
Some people are still here because they believe there is something worth rebuilding.
Some because they love the technology.
Some because they want their LUNC bags to appreciate.
And some because there is a special kind of vindication in succeeding after almost everyone told you it was impossible.
Project Flywheel is our attempt to turn that conviction into a coherent technical and economic system.
Not another governance slogan.
Not another burn campaign.
Not another promise that one parameter change will magically fix everything.
A system of products, infrastructure, liquidity, revenue and incentives designed to reinforce each other — and continuously recycle economic activity back into the Terra Classic ecosystem.
We have only shown a fraction of it.
Q4 will get interesting. 🌀🚀
Make terra-luna:native great again — by making it useful again.
#LUNC #TerraClassic #JurisProtocol #ProjectFlywheel #DeFi
To whom it may concern:
Juris Protocol will vote NO / VETO on any tax parameter change until the end of 2026.
Constantly changing the economic reality of Terra Classic without proper communication or planning destroys trust and creates unnecessary friction.
We believe it’s time to focus on the bigger picture: a sustainable future for LUNC, permanent & continuous supply reduction, ecosystem revival, and ultimately price appreciation.
Terra Classic is our home. We treat it like our baby. ❤️
$JURIS is committed to rebuilding the chain we all inherited from TFL and Do Kwon — regardless of the different factions within our community.
@frag_dude and @luna_lover69 have repeatedly chosen to stay and build on Terra Classic, despite opportunities and pressure to move elsewhere. We are financially and personally invested in both the chain and our projects, which are designed to create value for Terra Classic and its L2 ecosystem.
Meanwhile, there are far more urgent issues that deserve our attention:
🔴 URGENT
• Public node infrastructure & archival nodes
• IBC relaying
• 2026/27 budget roadmap
• Dedicated technical maintainers & contact point
• #blamefrag 😘
🟠 IMPORTANT
• A foundation, non-profit, DAO or similar structure to maintain the chain’s basic needs
• Legal representation & technical roadmap
• Coordination with exchanges and business partners
• A clear future use case and economic model for L1
• What kind of Cosmos app-chain does LUNC want to become?
• A realistic, economically viable supply-reduction strategy
• How do we bring back venture capital and mass retail?
• ...The list goes on.
In the grand scheme of things, constantly tweaking the burn tax and then fighting over the results after a few weeks is a ridiculous waste of time — and it further damages LUNC’s reputation.
It’s time to change our attitude.
Let’s get back to the discussion table, put the infighting aside, and start drawing the blueprint for the future together.
Unless, of course, the plan is to do nothing, stake with GP and wait for the Big B to save us. 😉
If you agree, like & retweet.
If you disagree, hate us in the comments. 😘
Cheers,
LLL69
Dear @Greenpeace06_09. Let's go in to some technical details. Because it seems you misunderstood something.
When in theblockchain space someone talks about "nodes" then he/she means possibly two things:
1/x
What can the $LUNC community learn from DigiByte?
A lot.
Not because Terra Classic should become @DigiByteCoin.
It shouldn’t.
The architectures are different. The histories are different. The communities are different.
But DigiByte demonstrated something that Terra Classic desperately needs to understand:
A blockchain does not need a corporation, a CEO or a centralized foundation standing above it to survive for more than a decade.
DigiByte launched in 2014.
No ICO.
No controlling company.
No CEO deciding its roadmap.
And yet the network continued.
Volunteers developed it. Community members promoted it. Independent infrastructure operators secured it. Builders introduced technologies such as DigiShield, MultiAlgo, DigiAssets and Digi-ID.
More than twelve years later, DigiByte still exists.
That matters.
Because Terra Classic is attempting something even more unusual.
We are rebuilding a blockchain AFTER its original economic system catastrophically failed, AFTER the original organization moved on, and AFTER most of the industry assumed the chain would disappear.
And yet here we are.
Validators are still producing blocks.
Developers are still shipping upgrades.
Communities are still organizing.
Exchanges still support $LUNC.
Projects are building new infrastructure.
Capital is slowly returning on-chain.
The lesson from DigiByte is therefore not:
“Decentralization fixes everything.”
It doesn’t.
The much more important lesson is:
DECENTRALIZATION MAKES SURVIVAL POSSIBLE.
But survival alone is not enough.
And this is where Terra Classic has an opportunity to go one step further.
Technical resilience without economic activity does not create a thriving ecosystem.
A chain can be decentralized, secure and operational for years and still struggle to attract meaningful liquidity, developers, applications and capital.
Terra Classic therefore needs BOTH sides of the equation:
→ A community-owned base layer that nobody can simply shut down.
→ Professional independent organizations willing to build businesses, products and infrastructure ON TOP of that decentralized base layer.
These two things are not contradictory.
In fact, we believe they are essential to each other.
A decentralized blockchain should not have a CEO.
But companies building applications on that blockchain absolutely can.
A decentralized community should control governance.
But professional development teams can still be accountable for delivering products.
Validators should remain independent.
But validators can also invest in infrastructure, integrations and ecosystem development.
This is exactly the model we believe Terra Classic needs.
And it is exactly what we are building with Juris Protocol and @BumeoCapital.
The Terra Classic blockchain belongs to its community.
Juris does not want to control it.
Bumeo does not want to become its new “Terraform Labs.”
We want something very different:
A decentralized base layer surrounded by serious, independent organizations competing to BUILD value on top of it.
For us, that means:
Juris Protocol developing native lending and borrowing infrastructure.
Money markets that make Terra Classic liquidity productive instead of simply sitting idle.
Liquidation infrastructure and collateral markets that allow a real DeFi economy to emerge.
Our Juris Protocol Validator securing the network and participating independently and transparently in governance.
@luncdash wallet and infrastructure making the ecosystem easier to navigate.
@simplylunc Cross-chain bridge and swaps connecting Terra Classic liquidity with the broader crypto economy.
Exchange relationships expanding access to the ecosystem.
And Bumeo Capital providing something community chains historically struggle to maintain:
continuity, professional execution, commercial relationships, development capacity and institutional accountability.
None of this replaces the community.
It strengthens what the community already owns.
DigiByte showed that grassroots decentralization can keep a blockchain alive through multiple market cycles.
Terra Classic should take that lesson seriously.
But our ambition should be larger than simply surviving another decade.
The objective should be to transform one of crypto’s most famous failed ecosystems into one of its most remarkable decentralized recoveries.
That requires less obsession with individual personalities.
Less endless internal warfare.
Less waiting for one proposal to magically fix everything.
And much more:
BUILDERS.
LIQUIDITY.
INFRASTRUCTURE.
APPLICATIONS.
USERS.
CAPITAL.
REVENUE.
REAL ON-CHAIN ECONOMIC ACTIVITY.
That is how the story changes.
Not because someone declares that Terra Classic is “back.”
But because eventually the numbers make the argument for us.
More TVL.
More transactions.
More applications.
More integrations.
More users.
More businesses willing to build here.
That is the Terra Classic we are working toward.
Juris Protocol intends to be here for the long term.
Not as the owner of Terra Classic.
Not as its central authority.
But as one of the independent pillars helping turn a community-owned blockchain into a functioning decentralized financial ecosystem.
If you share that vision:
⚡ Delegate $LUNC to the JURIS PROTOCOL Validator and help strengthen an infrastructure-first validator that is actively building on the chain.
⚡ Follow $JURIS as we move toward the next phase of Juris Protocol and our @WEEX_Official listing later this August.
⚡ $JURIS is already trading today on @_Terraport_ and @garuda_defi for those who want to participate ahead of the WEEX expansion.
DigiByte proved that a blockchain without a company behind it can survive.
Now Terra Classic has the opportunity to prove something even bigger:
That a community can inherit a broken blockchain…
decentralize it…
rebuild its infrastructure…
attract professional builders…
restore economic activity…
and turn survival into a second beginning.
We are here to build that future.
$LUNC × $JURIS
Community-owned base layer.
Professionally built infrastructure.
No central master.
Just builders.
