Pending plea deal vacates an arrest warrant for ex-@nhbulldogs girls basketball & ex-@NorthropSports girls basketball coach Kevin Clopton. Clopton was preliminary charged in May with criminal mischief & violating a restraining order. Clopton’s change of plea hearing is June 10.

East Noble agricultural sciences teacher Jesse Kimmel has been arrested on preliminary charges of child seduction, the Noble County jail confirms.

Kimmel is accused of fondling two children- one age 14-15 and one age 16-17 - on March 19, according to court documents.

An arrest warrant was issued May 14 for now-former New Haven girls basketball coach Kevin Clopton on preliminary charges, dated April 19, of criminal mischief and violating a restraining order, according to the Allen County Prosecutor’s office.

Clopton was arrested in 2021 on charges of violating a restraining order hours after his Bruins lost a 2021 sectional game. That case would ultimately be dismissed, but Clopton would not return to Northrop.

Real leadership is making sure anyone on Whitko’s campus for any event ever is safe. If that means extra police, more staff training, limiting visiting fan admission.

And real leadership is saying “We fucked up” and more importantly: “We can never let this happen again.”

However, there is an overwhelming lack of real leadership here. Certainly, real leadership includes disciplining Scott Krieg. But real leadership also includes reaching out to the administration at Maconaquah (and IHSAA, if needed) to get to the bottom of what happened…
