@adamtwar Your online resource about Polish diacritics has been a godsend as I design my first font. I see there is no advice about capital Ł. Any tips?
@MerriamWebster Are you aware that you currently list the primary pronunciation of "ogle" as "ohgle"? I have lived in many parts of the US and have always heard "oggle." This is also the pronunciation heard on radio broadcast like the most recent @WaitWait Don't Tell Me.
Seven Brief Lessons on Physics, by Carlo Rovelli. This book was very interesting, but unfortunately not as informative as I was hoping. The prose, however, was beautiful and lucid. #15thBookOf2023
Deaf Utopia, by Nyle DiMarco. This was great book, with so many insights about Deaf life, culture, and history, as well as navigating his queer identity and ongoing discrimination. #12thBookOf2023
Normally when a company updates its logo, you hate it at first but over time you realize the company was right and the new logo is better. Except @Pepsi. They screwed up that ball in 2008 and it's been regrettable ever since.
@johngreen I just wanted to tell a literary genius I just read Catcher in the Rye & my theory is he doesn't have a nervous breakdown after he and Phoebe go home, but that he is actually very sick with something like septic pneumonia, but his mental state is flagged during intake.
The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger, my #11thBookOf2024. I feel bad for Holden. People call him angsty and rebellious, when really he is very ill (physically and mentally), has suffered a lot of trauma, and has a terribly inadequate support system.
Painting end of Day 3. I'm sorry I never took a picture of day 2's work. Mostly it was just more color blocks including a neon orange cat. The cat still needs a LOT of work, and I'm running into my usual problem of not being good at doing color and value at the same time.
@hankgreen B, and here's why. Person 1 through 5 have to pass through blue during the same amount of time that it takes them to pass through orange. Person 5 essentially shoves Persons 1-4 out at train speed.
My favorite part of this morning is listening to this guy on the bus be a really great dad to his two young kids. Talking to them, answering their questions and asking them his. 👌🏻
@SingularJem I feel like this is just going to tell me things I don't want to know. I don't want to find out that people I previously thought of as normal humans are actually wet garbage people.
