6/6 Do you think we will be able to get to the projected 200 million Kgs or its now water under the bridge?
What has contributed to declining tobacco production this year?
Lets discuss @TembaMliswa@joyce_mabika@nickmangwana
5/6 For 2019, cumulatively, 203 m kgs were sold as of now, with contract contributing 176 m kgs while auction contributed 27 m kgs.
Last year i.e. 2019 selling season is therefore proving to have more tobacco produced than this year
4/6 Seasonally, the ave price/kg is $2.82 for auction while contract was $2.45, giving an overall average of $2.47/kg.
However prices are way better this year with ave price/kg now $2.47 as opposed to $1.91 in 2019
3/6 The average price for auction was $2.93/kg while for contract sales it was $2.88 – the same trend continuing where auction is still fetching more on than contract.
Highest price fetched for contract was $5.60 ($6.60 highest seasonal) while auction was the usual $4.99
