If your party doesn't include a green knight showing up to demand that a champion strike the head from his body so that he may return the blow in a year and a day, don't bother inviting me
A lot of these poems seem to be about dismantling preconceived notions. Mending Wall is about a wall that 2 neighbors keep between them for no reason other than because it’s always been there though by the end the narrator realizes that it doesn’t sit right with him #honorsonpop
Death of Hired Man deals with our preconceived notions of familial responsibility and how “family” and “home” don’t necessarily remain the same through the entirety of ones life. I especially like the notion of home being “where they have to take you in”
“Nay, the lord knows- but if I should be hanged, I cannot choose but be angry and afraid when I think that mad fellow should be in love with anybody but me” (103) It seems like this Helena has some shades of Midsummer’s Helena in her #honorsonpop
