The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of a 12-year-old boy and a 34-year-old man, believed to be the driver of a DAF XF 105 articulated truck bearing registration number GS 3097-20, following investigations into a viral video that showed the minor behind the wheel of the heavy-duty vehicle.
The two suspects are currently in the custody of the Central Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) in Accra, assisting with investigations.
They have also reminded parents, guardians and vehicle owners not to allow minors or unlicensed individuals to operate vehicles, especially heavy-duty trucks, and urged the public to report similar incidents to help improve road safety.
