The nights have been getting longer, and you know what this calls for… 🌌

@cherxlle my dude the lack of capitalisation here really made me think you meant everyone has a moment in their life where they do yellowface for narrative growth
It's a very odd feeling having this story finally see the light - I wrote it back in my undergrad days at Warwick, pre-covid, pre-manchester, pre-20s. A different person in a lot of ways, but this was one of the first pieces that sounded like what would become my writing voice 🤷♀️

'Sad goodbye to Carmen Callil. Devastated she won’t be part of the 50th celebrations for the imprint she founded to `change the world’. Champion of women, outspoken critic, wonderful friend and utterly unique human being. A genius.' - Lennie Goodings

Introducing the woman who just got stopped at border control for (accidentally) illegally immigrating to the UK while holding a British passport with two British parents. Thanks Brexit 😊 please form an orderly queue to deposit your jobs to me.
Also knowing the kinds of people that follow me here, if you yourself are running a mag and need a reviewer, drop me a line 👍 Have got a short portfolio of pieces here and honestly I just want to have an excuse to do close depth readings on books again:

Am getting back into writing the occasional book review but half the mags I used to submit to have folded under the pandemic. If anyone knows of decent lit mags that are looking for reviews of recent indie published books/literary fiction novels/poetry collections, let me know 👀
@lucies19plants Stop mocking the polyglots, they're trying their best. They've done the hard bit. They've had the idea. They just need someone to write the whole novel now; you know, the easy bit.
Unpaid job opportunity to (checks notes) write a whole book, will only take (squints at notes) a few hours a week. Requires experience as a PUBLISHED novellist and must write in (claws eyes out trying to read notes) an emoticon language
