The best thing my agent says all day is "not found".
Here's how the second brain behind it is built:
- plain .md in 3 folders: notes/, people/, projects/
- one CLAUDE.md map, loaded at launch. 13,963 bytes in context before I type a word
- every answer comes back with the exact file it came from
- ask for Jane's phone number and it opens her card, finds nothing, and says so instead of inventing one
That last one is the whole game. Without one line in the map, "if it isn't in the files, say not found", my agent fills gaps from whatever's nearby and sounds dead sure doing it. With it, it shuts up and points at the file. That line is fucking gold.
No app. No vector DB. Folders and one map you can copy tonight.

I asked Claude Code three questions and got back three machines you can press.
A bottle jack: 19.5 kg on the handle, 2 tonnes on the ram.
A winch: 102 N at the crank, 2,729 N on the strap.
A pressure cooker where water won't boil until 120 °C.
Every number on screen comes from each machine's own small model. Arithmetic, not a lab bench. One speed badge still said ×8 when the math said ×8.2, and I only caught it on the fact-check pass.
