Pick a promise of God. Trust him at every hour to keep it. Enjoy the peace.
"You keep him in perfect peace
whose mind is stayed on you,
because he trusts in you.
Trust in the Lord forever,
for the Lord God is an everlasting rock." Isaiah 26:3-4
Instead of promoting singleness, as it foolishly has for decades, the church should invest in practical tools and networks that help people find godly spouses.
"And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire."
- Revelation 20:15 (cf. 13:8, 17:8; Ephesians 1)
Brothers and sisters...fear not, God wrote our names the book of life prior to His creative acts, and they are there to stay.
“Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord his God.” Psalm 146:5
Trust him for every help you need — one minute or one century from now.

Why are the psalms the heart of Scripture? Because, as Martin Franzmann said, "Theology is doxology. Theology must sing." It cannot remain mute words inside a book, but it leaps off the printed page, exits the mouth, and fills the air with a holy sound. In the psalms we sing with Jesus, and Jesus sings with us, in a hymn to the Father through the Spirit, amidst a choir of saints and angels. Here are God's words to us that become our words back to God. The psalms are verbal tears for the suffering, a steady hand to the wavering, a beating heart to the dying.
No other biblical book was on the lips of Jesus as he was about to die. Let them ever be on our lips as well, for they are the songs of heaven on earth.
David said to his son Solomon, the “man of rest,” the man of “peace and quietness,” . . . “Arise and work!” 1 Chronicles 22:9, 16
Restful work.
Peaceful work.
Quiet work.
As to the Lord, diligent.
@WallStreetSilv Slippery slope of tolerance has led us to the point where supporters of LGBTQ want to normalize pedophilia and gender transition & grooming of children. Adult mind is not fully developed for rational thought until age 21-25. This is CHILD ABUSE!
To celebrate 20 years of marriage, I offer you 20 short reflections I’ve learned along the way...
1 Marry for demonstrated potential which is to say catch them on their way up
2 Marry as young as reasonable so that you develop your tastes and habits as a couple
3 Children are infinitely better than pets... so don’t delay having them
4 Have frank discussions about sexual expectations with your spouse and have as much sex as you both can
5 When arguing, stop and say, “Hey, I love you. We are on the same side. Let’s work this out together.”
6 Pray together everyday and share the things you’re learning from God’s Word
7 Take responsibility for your sins and failures by saying “I was wrong. There is no excuse. Please forgive me.”
8 Have a budget and have set times you can talk openly about finances
9 Make three or five year plans with one year benchmarks and follow it
10 Go to church... every Sunday... even when on vacation
11 Never have close opposite sex friends... friends of the couple is okay... but not as individuals
12 Never let your kids play you against each other even if you agree with them... work it with your spouse behind close doors
13 Wives shouldn’t nag, husbands should follow through on promises they make
14 If you forgave them, never bring it up again in an argument
15 Don’t let her coddle the kids, don’t let him exasperate them
16 Don’t overload your life with activities but rather maintain margin so you can work from rest
17 sometimes, maybe even often, expressing the willingness to fix the problem is more important than figuring out who’s to blame
18 In the long run, divorce is ALMOST always worse than a difficult marriage... so work on and fight for your marriage every single day
19 Play the long game... often marriages get worse before they get better
20 Enjoy every moment you have together, because the years go by easily.
P.S. Psalm 127:1
"Every wise workman takes his tools away from the work from time to time that they may be ground and sharpened. [So God takes] his ministers oftentimes away into darkness and loneliness and trouble, that he may sharpen and prepare them for harder work in his service."
McCheyne
Believers will become more Christlike over time, but never more righteous. Our righteous status is all Christ’s, not the result of our self-improvement.
