You can now use a selfie video to log into your Google Account.
The new feature is easy to use and lets you sign in — even if you forget your password or don’t have your usual phone or laptop — with a quick selfie.
another day, another new way windows manages to amaze me: this time it somehow reset all of my pinned programs on the start menu (very nice stable channel icl)
25 years ago, Microsoft’s CEO called Linux “a cancer.”
In 2026, Microsoft is shipping its own Linux distribution.
That’s not a joke. Azure Linux 4.0 is now public, free to download, open-source, and maintained by Microsoft.
But this is not Ubuntu, Mint, or Fedora for your laptop. Azure Linux is built for cloud workloads, Azure VMs, containers, Kubernetes, and enterprise infrastructure.
This means it does not have a desktop or a GUI. It is just a hardened, minimal Linux base tuned for Azure.
The technical stack is serious... Fedora 43 base, Linux 6.18 LTS, dnf5, glibc 2.42, systemd 258, Python 3.14 with JIT, OpenSSL 3.5 with post-quantum crypto support, and FIPS 140-3 certification in progress.
Microsoft already uses it internally across Azure services, and LinkedIn and Databricks have moved massive workloads to it.
It is an interesting move for Microsoft, as nobody really expected the company to build its own Linux distribution and ship it to the public.
@skylermzx i reverted back to the old layout the second i saw it. idk why they think the start menu is some kind of phone home screen, like they need folders like that
we are slowly reaching towards a new trend where big tech will use your phone as a captcha, and if you're running a custom rom or your phone is jailbroken, you're fucked
