How do you control the fans on an Apple Silicon Mac?

I dug into it and shipped a free, open-source app. Here's what I learned:

@JohnMcKeownn I understand but with mode boost the system predict how many rpm on fans to have for down grade the fans engine

@ReignSwords Hunters flagged 16 bugs as confirmed. The verifiers kept 8. If a verifier can't prove it, it becomes "needs validation", not a guess. Funny part: false positives weren't the real problem. A coverage critic found 9 surfaces no reviewer had touched.

Code + DMG: https://t.co/gKkgGLG0C2

Verified on an M5 Pro. If you have an M1–M4, I'd love a 2-minute test report (form in the repo).

The result is FanPilot: menu bar temps, Manual / Max / Auto Boost rules / custom fan curves, plus a CLI.

Free, MIT, no account, no network access. M1 to M5.

LET'S FUCKING GOOOOO 😭🇲🇦🇲🇦

[Anthropic @AnthropicAI]

Since June 12, we’ve been working closely with the US government to restore access to Claude Mythos 5 and Fable 5. Today, the government notified us that Mythos 5, our strongest cybersecurity model, can be redeployed to a set of US organizations that operate and defend critical infrastructure.

We’re restoring access for these organizations quickly, and we’re continuing to work with the government to expand access to Mythos 5 and make Fable 5 available for general use again.

NEW: Anthropic introduces Claude Fable 5, a Mythos-class model for general use.

Beginning of a new class of frontier models.
