For real, I liked the lore/history of 1.0. (yapyap incoming)

Gave us some mysteries about who Rover is, recounting past lives.

We got introduced to both Fractsidus & Black Shores & their “purposes.” Scar constantly made me question things. Especially since Qichi village. And holy heck, his fight in the library.

Jinhsi as a chosen & committed leader from a young age, dedicating her life to the path she believes in & then those that follow her. Jue, the ability to see the future, the power of the sentinel. Prophecies.

References to “ancient” beings and civilizations and events. Crazy cool indications of past, present, and future timelines & memories. Interesting flash backs to different times and places.

Incredible scenes for showing the past war, introducing Jiyan’s rise to position with a solid reflection of who he is vs the previous general. The sheer weight of the wars on the people that survived.

The explanations of emotions, despair, fear feeding into the tacets. Introducing the ore that has power, explaining remnant energy.

Good contrast between the scientists dedicated to protecting Huanglong vs the ones performing unethical experiments & being exploited by said faction for its own gain.

The retroact rain was awesome. The anti-gravity of the threnodian area was awesome. The fight with Crownless & Dreamless was awesome.

Man that’s not even all the little details like changes in sceneries, npc interactions, subtle character animations and not to mention some awesome voice actors. There’s a lot more to yap about.

I get there were some slow part, like the sundial stuff was a little tedious. But 1.0 was a solid introduction and build up to great details for the world. I’m thoroughly in love with the game so far & I can’t wait to do more.

It’s honestly a good balance. There for those who want to have fun seeking out the mystery, but not so in your face for those who want to experience the general story without solving layered mysteries.
