Arnold Schwarzenegger says going to couples therapy during his divorce was the biggest mistake he ever made
"Did you seek out therapy or any personal help?"
"Yes, we did, Maria and I. And it was the biggest mistake I've ever made."
"That guy was so full of shit. He said more crap and more nonsense that was counterproductive to our future relationship."
"Maria talked me into doing it. I went, but felt instinctively I shouldn't go because I knew I screwed up."
"I don't have to go to anyone to have him explain anything to me. I apologized to Maria, apologized to the kids, and tried to move forward."
"It has worked out so well with the help of Maria and the kids, but not because of that shrink."
"I think people should get help when they need it, but in my particular case, it was not helpful."

sony ends disc production for every new playstation game in january 2028.
a new release becomes a download, or a box with a code in it.
the petition is approaching 350,000 verified names.
sony's public reply, twenty-six days in: nothing.
so the community stopped asking politely.
engagement is the number sony leads with every quarter, ahead of hardware.
the published figure only samples the last month of a quarter.
the internal dashboards read every single day.
a week-shaped hole in late august lands on someone's desk long before
november does.
a petition needs sony to choose to read it.
an empty server counts itself.

A Message For All Gamers:
We don't ask that you agree with our position, but that you respect our desire for physical media the same way WE respect your right to play digital-titles. What @Sony is proposing strikes at the very heart of gaming for many consumers. You may believe that an all-digital future is inevitable, and you may be correct, but many of us, gamers just like you, feel that this is a chance to send a strong message to the industry, a message that we believe benefits both digital and physical players.
📲WE BELIEVE that choice is important for everyone.
📲WE BELIEVE that competition in the marketplace is healthy.
📲WE BELIEVE that video game preservation is a legitimate argument for the continuation of physical media.
📲WE BELIEVE that termination of accounts and delisting of games/loss of content are legitimate concerns for advocates of physical media.
📲WE BELIEVE that gamers who pay for a product should OWN that product, not simply rent the license.
📲WE BELIEVE that Sony has acted in bad faith towards its customers in how they have managed the decision to phase out #PhysicalGames
📲WE BELIEVE that both physical and digital media can and should coexist.
📲WE BELIEVE that, as stakeholders, all players should have a voice in the decisions that affect gaming.
📲WE BELIEVE that, if left unchallenged, corporations like Sony will act out of self-interest and not in the interests of gamers.

Jon Hamm says he accepted Top Gun: Maverick before hearing the salary and told his agents they were fired if they lost the role
“I’m driving down the road and my phone rings. It’s my agent: ‘They want you to do a part in the Top Gun sequel’”
“I was like, ‘Well then, the answer is yes’”
“They’re like, ‘Well, we don’t know the money and this and that.’ I was like, ‘No, no, no, no, no. The answer is yes. You work out the details, but the answer is yes’”
“‘If this goes away, you’re all fired’”
“To flash back to being 13, 14 years old in 1985, be asked to be a part of the next chapter of this, and then basically have all of my scenes be with Tom Cruise - it was like, ‘No, this is a no-brainer’”
“‘The answer is yes. I’m sure it will be a big hit.’ And it was”

I just called @sony at 1-800-345-7669 (from the US).
I dropped the following message for their customer service team:
"Hello my name is REDACTED. My account name is REDACTED, My email is REDACTED.
I am calling you today to express how disappointed I am regarding the recent decision by Sony to discontinue production of game discs in January of 2028.
I am a lifelong Playstation supporter. I have purchased every iteration of Playstation since day one, including the PSP and PS Vita, but I can no longer support you as a customer because of the unconscionable decision of your executives to strip me of physical game ownership rights.
I will be boycotting Sony and Playstation until this decision is reversed.
No Spider-Man.
No Wolverine.
No GTA VI.
No PS Plus.
No Crunchyroll.
No new digital purchases.
And there are hundreds of thousands just like me.
Thank you for your time."
I encourage you to do the same.

Dear @asha_shar@XBOX
On behalf of VGP, we would like to share our perspective as a retailer that has proudly supported the gaming industry and the Xbox brand for many years.
When Microsoft originally introduced the vision for the Xbox One with a strong emphasis on digital ownership, the response from consumers was immediate. Sony took advantage of that moment by positioning the PlayStation 4 as the console that embraced physical game ownership, and history shows how influential that decision became.
Today, the market is shifting once again. Sony appears to be moving further toward a digital-first future, creating an opportunity for Microsoft to differentiate itself by becoming the industry's strongest advocate for physical media.
We encourage Microsoft to revisit Project Helix and make physical games a core part of its strategy. There remains a passionate and dedicated audience that values collecting, preserving, lending, trading, and truly owning the games they purchase. As a retailer, we see that demand every day.
The saying "what goes around comes around" feels especially relevant. Years ago, Sony benefited by championing physical ownership while Microsoft moved toward digital. Today, Microsoft has an opportunity to reverse that narrative and become the company that stands behind consumer choice.
Many gamers still look back on the Xbox 360 era as the golden age of Xbox. The platform was synonymous with innovation, great games, and strong relationships with both players and retail partners. We believe Microsoft can recapture much of that goodwill by reaffirming its commitment to physical gaming and by bringing Project Helix to market.
As one of Microsoft's retail partners, we believe a renewed investment in physical media would benefit consumers, retailers, publishers, and Xbox itself. We respectfully encourage you and your leadership team to consider this opportunity and help usher Xbox back to the position of industry leadership that so many fans remember.
Thank you for your time and consideration. We look forward to seeing Xbox continue to innovate while supporting the millions of players who still value physical game ownership.
Sincerely
VGP
PlayStation fought hard and got the previous community note on the post removed, but now they have an even better one.
According to the note, based on leaked info, they lied.
“From the Insomniac leak, PlayStation's own single-player games make up 60-77% of sales.
The data being used to argue for higher digital purchases include DLC, expansions, digital-only games such as early access, and live services.”
