Dave tried to put him on spark plugs. Boss pulled him off and sent him back to oil changes and tire rotations.

Today, knowing he’s leaving, they finally let him do a Chevy transfer case. First one. Kid actually got excited.

Too late.

That is the tech shortage. It isn’t always “kids these days.” A shop that parks a new hire on lube work for 45 days, then acts shocked when a plant offers him a way out.
