And the battleground is education and Africans still don't get it.

Dear Africans: when you see people from other continents with machines and skills, you think that's all there is because you hate the sciences and humanities and you don't like to think. But China has a 5000-year civilization and a work ethic. Africa is divorced from theirs. Germany, which we also keep referring to, has the biggest names in philosophy and classical music. In Africa we call music and philosophy useless to the market.

So if a college like this is brought to Africa, it would do nothing but gather dust. The machines would be foreign, the curriculum would be foreign, the teachers would be foreign, and the African kids being taught would have no grounding in science or philosophy. That's why in Africa, vocational training is about low skill trades: brick laying, baking, tailoring, beadwork and repairing cars, things you can learn in the jua Kali sector. With CBC, middle class parents were celebrating "practical" skills as frying an egg and slaughtering chicken! That's how mediocre we are! Meanwhile our leaders give contracts for constructing bridges and other infrastructure to foreigners, and they sabotage any local engineers who can do that work.

And all this because when we tell you our tech development is being sabotaged, you accuse us of peddling conspiracy theories. But how many Africans who invent anything are quickly shipped to study in the west? And who celebrates? YOU.

Outside of the US and the UK, which are buried in the same mindset, and which we inherited from them, Africa is the one place people grovel in mediocrity while believing they are at the same level of excellence of those they ogle at.

Africa doesn't have a STEM or vocational training problem. It has a political philosophy one. And from what I've seen, only Ibrahim Traore of Burkina Faso has understood it. He has told Burkinabe researchers that they have to work and stop admiring foreigners and their lifestyles. We need to put our brains to work, not keep praising ignorance and low level skills as "practical" training, or as being real or remaining kwa ground. If there are any countries like Kenya, they love ignorance. There is a war against Africa to keep us as plantation labor with the least technical or intellectual skills possible. That's the education conversation we also need to have. No TVET is going to address that problem without Africans putting in the time to study and understand history and geopolitics. But Africans have decided that that knowledge is useless.
