One Country, One Definition of Child!

On the occasion of Int’l #HumanRightsDay, Sindh Assembly has called for a single, uniform definition of a child across 🇵🇰, emphasizing that a child’s legal status should not differ from province to province. We commend President @AAliZardari for his progressive leadership in ensuring that, after years of struggle, the federation finally has a law setting the minimum marriageable age at 18 for both the girl and boy. Balochistan has also legislated on it - following the precedent set by Sindh despite all the resistance.

Proud that my resolution urging the remaining provinces to introduce these much-needed reforms has been passed unanimously by the Sindh Assembly. I am grateful to my party leadership for their constant guidance and support, and I also thank the opposition benches for their cooperation in this important cause. PPP continues to actively advance Chairman @BBhuttoZardari’s agenda of protecting and strengthening human rights. #16DaysOfActivism #ChildRights
