It is not a coincidence that Murshidabad is being chosen as the place to announce the idea of building a Babri Masjid. Today, Murshidabad is known nationwide, ironically not for trade, cultural heritage, tourism or development, but for repeated incidents of bomb manufacturing, communal violence, arms smuggling and the steady exodus of Hindus from several pockets. None of this could have grown to such a scale without political patronage.

For decades, Mamata Banerjee has been strategically engineering the political environment in this district to appease a specific vote bank, the same vote bank she once described as her “milking cow.” But now that very “milking cow” has turned into a bull, completely out of the control of the one who nurtured it.

In Murshidabad, the population ratio stands at roughly 30:70, which is the complete reversal of West Bengal’s broader demographic pattern of 70:30. And now there are clear indications that the plan is to replicate this MURSHIDABAD MODEL across the rest of West Bengal, using this Babri Masjid as the epicentre of that civilisational change.
