JUST IN: The Namibian Police are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying human remains discovered along a riverbank in Windhoek over the weekend.
Police said a human skeleton was found at around 10:30 on Saturday, 11 July, in bushes near Matshitshi Road in Otjomuise, about 200 metres east of the Matshitshi gravel road.
The items found at the scene include a black Johnson T-shirt, a pair of yellow tracksuit trousers and a pair of Havaianas sandals.
Police have not yet established the identity, age or gender of the deceased, and the circumstances surrounding the person's death remain under investigation.
Anyone who recognises the clothing or may have information that could assist in identifying the deceased can contact Chief Inspector Oscar N. Shatipamba of the Namibian Police Forensic Science Institute on 081 129 7550 or visit the police mortuary to view the recovered clothing.

Teen missing from school for 2 days
Julian Kabwe (17), a grade 11 learner from St. George's Diocesan School has reportedly been missing from the school since Monday at approximately 10h19 am in Windhoek.
According to reports, Kabwe was last seen leaving the school on foot through the Sinclair Road gate, wearing her school uniform.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is requested to call the school or call the NamStrong Helpline.
