@Brightonian_ think most of us just felt the 30m opening bid was pretty outrageous and sparked a lot of debate considering the prices Brighton sell players for. Narrative slowly shifting because of how he has carried himself and was average in wc. Honestly more upset about bergvall than him!
@NotSpursJourno honestly tho whatโs your opinion on the signing? We have to make a statement and yes there are going to be sacrifices but surely there are some concerns about it? Fit, talent pathways etc. then again maybe Iโm being too soft and we just have to be ruthless.
@a_malarky@NicJ_27 de zerbi I feel will eventually take a liking to gray because heโs almost like a clean slate for a midfielder, very coachable into someone who would fit his system. Plus gray can play almost anywhere.
@NOMOREBADSTATS holy goated. my assumption would be de zerbi feels that he can get more of Tonali, fernandes, Wharton etc. Would be curious to see what hojberg numbers were like pre de zerbi as well ๐ค
@zo_demalia Basically: Promising young player who already struggles for minutes sees club going for other players in his preferred position.
Unfortunate for him but the players are better NOW so sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do ๐ข
@JosephDarb83861@GaryRWard doesnโt mean that the deal is secured mate. Iโm quietly confident that we could actually get this done but if city come in and match our bid and contract, I can still see him picking them over us. As close to Guaranteed UCL, title races and trophies as it gets.
@JosephDarb83861@GaryRWard ยฃ85m seems very reasonable so if this is true I can see city quickly swooping in and matching our salary offer. From there itโs a matter of whether he wants to join us or city, and unless de zerbi really has THAT pull, then I can see him going the other way.
@MMoritsen think ยฃ90m is fair. We need overall good players since the technical level of the squad is so poor. Complete midfielders who arenโt exceptional at anything but are really good at everything are rare and therefore very expensive.
@InvertTheWing literally the dream transfer window. would prefer to see a younger 10 like maza who an deputise Maddison until xavi returns. All the other signing are like ~300m so feels unrealistic to add another 60-70m on top in a non priority position.
@DF93k@BhotspurMj@mitch_fretton he was COMPETING with them for places bro. Literally the two best wingers in the league in doku and semenyo. Of course heโs not gonna get off the bench. Summerville was the only decent left winger at west ham, so if he was fit he would start every game no matter what ๐คฆโโ๏ธ
