@DrewPickard This will make college cost less.
If government completely removed itself from colleges and universities, tuition would come down and people wouldn't be saddled with insane debt at the start of their adult lives.
Let's do a little math here:
Each Starlink satellite weighs ~2 tons and adds ~1 Tbps to the Starlink network.
Each Starship launch can carry up to 60 Starlink satellites. That's a total of ~60 Tbps per launch.
The entire internet is ~2,250 Tbps, meaning it would take only ~38 Starship launches for the Starlink network to have greater bandwidth than the entire internet.
Most people don't realize the scale of Starship. It's insane!
@TTrimoreau Most jobs have the potential to become more valuable if the person can leverage AI. If I can tackle the work of three people doing it the old fashioned way, I would expect to be paid significantly more.
This is it, on an enterprise level, improvements to Sonnet and Haiku are huge.
The tools I develop for the org are run by hundreds of employees and if they ran opus for a simple tool, it would cost a fortune. Improvements to Sonnet and Haiku allow us to push the capabilities of the tools while keeping token spend down.
@NickMaccini It really depends on your workflow. First identify the pain points that provide the most leverage, then build custom solutions.
It's pretty easy to do this for a small company. Enterprise is hard as there are significant legal, political, and infosec hurdles.
This is fake news at its finest.
First off, we’re not ‘banning’ any program. The federal government doesn’t set curriculum or programs.
Here’s the truth: we are holding colleges accountable for leaving students worse off than if they never enrolled. Too many graduates report delaying major life milestones like buying a home or starting a family. Why? Because low return-on-investment programs saddled them with unmanageable debt that was never going to translate into a real-world job.
Federal student loans are not a welfare program for failing college programs. American students deserve education and training pathways that prepare them for the workforce – and transparency about programs that will never pay off.
@BillyJ11051955@rand_longevity Great questions. I think that many people find purpose in their work and I wonder what UBI would look like for those folks.
I think it's probably a mix; some will sit on their butts all day and do nothing, some will better enjoy life, some will lack purpose and may struggle.
This is AMAZING NEWS!!
The Department of Education will start tying federal student loan eligibility to graduate earning outcomes.
Under the rule:
> undergrad programs must out-earn high school graduates and
> graduate programs must out-earn undergraduate programs
This is going dismantle many BS predatory college programs.
A would be win for the future of American students!
